Great place for family picnics and BBQ - very clean and well looked after by the community. The only downfall is not enough carparks.
Very nice playground with lots of interesting equipment for the kids to try. You see this playground just as you enter Paeroa from SH2, there is a convenient car park and it’s just a 30 sec drive from the L&P Cafe nice fish and chips. The playground itself is quite big, the section closest to the car park is for smaller kids and the equipment looks fairly new. There is a rock climbing statue and the playground for bigger kids has lots of cool climbs, slides and balancing steps. This playground is also next to Paeroa skate park, you can sink a few hours into this place if you really tried. Worth a quick stop if you’re travelling with kids!
Lots of equipment for the kids to play on spread out lots of swings and a Flying fox. Also a skate park. Toilets aren't too far away. BBQ and tables.
The flying fox was the highlight of my kids day but everything else was good to.
$5 paid at the Caltex for a tent site on grass near parking spots. Public toilets. Conveniently located along the rail trail.nnTwo happy bike packers when we stumbled across this site.
