Oxford Area School is one of the very few schools in New Zealand that has its own astronomical observatory. It houses a Meade LX200 10" telescope.
Dedicated to education for all ages, it is available for School visits and Sky Tour Bookings.
The Observatory is available for bookings for magnificent southern sky tours with experienced astronomers as your guides.
At Oxford Observatory we take pride in this facility and we are committed to facilitate education in astronomy for all ages.
We can organize observation nights, special events, night classes for adults.
Individuals, both students and community members are welcome to participate in research projects that require the use of our facilities.
The Observatory is owned and operated by Oxford Area School.
