Ordered flooring for en suite and bathroom on the Friday, told it would be ready for collection on Monday. Tuesday came and still no call, so I called the store on Wheatley Hall Rd and they said I was on a list to call and it was ready. Ok, went to collect. Took the flooring home and it was rolled inside out so you couldn’t see the pattern, so when I organised to have it fitted the next day I noticed it was actually a completely different flooring than the one I ordered. I called, and was asked to bring it back to store and they’d investigate. Sales staff there are poor, unorganised and very quick to blame each other for mistakes as opposed to taking accountability. This aside, they rang the other store and it wasn’t there - turns out it hadn’t even been ordered and I was given someone else’s collection. Then I had to wait another week for it to be ready so I asked, I’m 38 weeks pregnant I don’t want to be back and forth can it be delivered. Yes I was told, “it’ll be Monday of next week and I’ll even ask the fitters to install for free as a favour to us.” Monday came, no phone call or delivery. I called before they closed and again, lack of accountability with a lady saying “it wasn’t me working” instead of rectifying the issue. The lady said she would investigate and call me back, no call back was made. The delivery guys dropped the vinyl off on Tuesday morning, but then left it with me in the doorway so I called again and ended up speaking to the original lady who advised they may be able to fit it for me, called Jess. She was the only person to seemed to be competent there so was happy to hear her voice. I enquired as to whether or not this was being fitted and she made a phone call to the fitters and they came on the afternoon. I answered the door and was greeted with annoyed fitters saying “We’re here to fit the vinyl or sumat” then I advised it was upstairs. None of the 3 guys who came bothered to take their trainers/shoes off and left all the cuttings and bits everywhere and didn’t give me an opportunity to look at the flooring before they all rushed off. Being 38 weeks pregnant it took me a while, but I cleaned up after them, thinking well it was free so can I really complain. Well, yes I can. There are bubbles in the flooring, and I am going to get someone else to sort as I do not want to deal with this company again. From start to finish, it was a shambles. Jess was the only saving grace. Would not recommend and you’d think only dealing in flooring they’d have the process nailed - no, they don’t. Spend your money elsewhere.
Carpets and shop assistants are fine. Fitters not so, never turned up, didn't get in touch then blatantly lied by saying they called round, checked CCTV, no one came round Got a refund and will be going elsewhere.
Had some laminate flooring fitted today by Andy and he has done an absolutely superb job. Best laminate floor fitter we’ve ever had.
Very disappointed in the fitting service provided they turned up to fill the new carpet all the old carpet was removed as advised .My mum asked if they would just help move there sofa into the next room so they could fit the carpet as my step dad has just had a heart by pass and can not lift any thing .They did move it in the end but weren't very happy they fitted the new carpets ok then left all the off cuts every where the carpet tube that the carpet came on and basically all there mess outside and said we don't take anything away and left.To me that's not what I call a service
Can I just say, we have had carpets from here before and no problems. Now the main part. Ordered carpet approx 4 weeks ago, all sorted, fitting date confirmed etc . That is when problems started, flawed carpet/s, no communication between store and fitters and most of all me, the customer. Suffice to say, nearly a week on and after more fairytales than a kids book section, we have cancelled the order and will use another provider. This is has messed plans for furniture delivery and finishing the room off hence me not being impressed. Oh and the fact I had to take 3 days holiday from work for no reason other than to wait for a fitter that due to unknown reasons, was never going to appear. Some advice to Wilsons, computerize your booking and ordering system it is so much easier. Make sure the items are quality controlled before leaving the warehouse/store and not make a fitter feel awkward when on site. And mostly, be honest with customers, if you don't know then say so don't try a bluff with the old " It will definitely be.... " sketch. And get branch managers as apparently you don't have them or a decent Customer Services Dept.
Ordered two carpets, both from the most expensive range in store. Requested two fitting dates as we did not want the new hall carpet to be spoilt as we were having a new bathroom installed. So far, so good. Just prior to the first fitting they called to cancel the first fitting. We had already disposed of the living room carpet and ended up living on floorboards for a month. When it was eventually fitted, no problem. Wilson carpets agreed a date for the second carpet fitting, never mentioned anything about calling in with the payment. They rang me at work and said that they wanted immediate payment so I agreed to call in at the weekend, the man said that was fine. However, he contacted me again at work within a few hours and spoke to me in a way that was unprofessional and uncalled for. Again, no problem, I cancelled the order. End result was that I will go elsewhere and they lose £1000 and any future business. My reason for this review is that, although I will never go back, without a complaint the company will never know that he is losing them money.
After a bad experience with the carpet fitters in May 2021 which was resolved brilliantly by Wilson’s, we decided to give them another chance and bought more carpets to be fitted. I called the store on the day to be told the fitters would contact me when they had loaded the van and worked out the route. Fantastic. I phoned back again after a couple of hours having heard nothing and Ian from Wheatley Hall Road branch answered and was rude and unhelpful. He told me that the fitters might give 20 minutes notice of their arrival or more or might not. I asked if I could have the fitters number to get an idea and was told no they don’t give the numbers out and anyway they leave their phones in the van. Fair enough but in May we were given the fitters number do we could check. Ian was clearly not particularly bothered or helpful Monday morning syndrome, his football team had lost at the weekend, I’m not sure why. I asked to speak to someone else but was again refused this. I said I would take it further snd he replied “complain then, I don’t care” and put the phone down on me. I have emailed Wilson’s but would not recommend them now at all. I have no faith in them and really think that customer service should be addressed. The fitters did get in touch - on my daughters number she lives in Leeds. They obviously didn’t read the paperwork where we changed the number Don’t bother. Nice carpets but spoiled by done rude staff!
Ordered carpets for fitting a month in advance.. no showed twice, not only that, didn't even call with an update! We had to call them to find out what was going on when they didn't turn up "oh they're not coming they're uncontactable" OH THAT'S OK THEN! Zero customer service, zero communication skills, zero care given.... Just an FYI, still to this day I have no updates even after calling daily for them, they just don't care. I'm getting the carpets delivered and I'll find my own fitter! .... STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY if I were you I'd check out universal carpets around the corner or flooring superstore across the road instead....
Shocking to the point I cant understand how the business is even profitable? Went into store at Wheatley Hall Road Doncaster to choose carpets/wood flooring for the entire house, paid approx. 2.5k in total and received confirmation emails of the order carpets and laminate were booked for delivery/fitting on 2 separate dates... nice and easy, that's where it stops! Didn't receive fitting dates on the confirmation email about the laminate fitting so I emailed them 21st July.... no reply. I followed up with another email this time including everyone 23rd July...… no reply. Decided to pick up the phone and was told I haven't ordered anything and I haven't paid I was holding the receipt in my hand I reiterated that I have certainly paid and gave my order number again to which I was told "oh sorry, someone wrote your order in the diary on the wrong day and I couldn't read his hand writing".... Diary? what large organisation uses diaries! .. Ok whatever, its a simple mistake I suppose... Booked a day off work for the fitting for the carpet, 2nd August, called weekly up to the fitting date to make sure it was still OK. Called the morning of 2nd August 10am to make sure the fitters were coming and I was told "they might get caught up at another job so could be late" I was fine with that, I understand things like that happen. Fast forward to 3pm on the 2nd August, still no sign of them so I called again, this time I was told I haven't got a fitting date for the 2nd its actually the 3rd... Just to confirm, I physically have the invoice, I have the original email and I have the hand written notification, all saying fitting 2nd, even when I phoned up to the fitting date I was told 2nd throughout. When I complained I was told "I don't know what to tell you, its my first day back" like that's my problem... I asked to speak to the person that booked me in originally but was told "he doesn't work here anymore"... How convenient! Didn't even get so much as an apology, just a "nothing I can do" and "not sure what to tell you" and "I've had nothing to do with this". MAYBE TALK TO EACHOTHER! MAYBE USE COMPUTER SYSTEMS SO YOU CAN READ EACHOTHERS WRITING YOU CLOWNS! Furious with the whole experience so far.... oh by the way, still no written confirmation of the new fitting date for fitting for both carpets and laminate! I don't know why I bother! UPDATE - its now the 3rd the date they agreed they would come and fit the carpets and guess what...... NO SHOW AGAIN! called them in the morning and was told the fitters were uncontactable, phoned every 30 minutes and received ZERO updates apart from "we will keep trying to call them" called back and asked if the fitters have even collected the stock the night before like they're supposed to and was told " I don't know its being collected from York Road" why wasn't this one of the first things you found out? Why is a customer baby sitting you?..... TALK TO EACHOTHER! didn't York Road wonder why the stock hasn't been collected and escalate? Don't Wilsons carpets check up on the fitters they trust? because guess what Wilsons... even though the fitters don't work for you, you're still responsible for them and their conduct! ….. Just to reiterate stood up 2 days in a row, received paperwork with confirmed dates and that means nothing because Wilsons work from hand written notes in a book! Wilsons have offered nothing at all so far as an apology! Wilsons have not tried a single thing to rectify this, like get some different fitters or even offer a different date! Please... if you value punctuality, professionalism and good customer service, go somewhere else, I promise you this company is by far one of the worst I've ever dealt with. Their first store opened in Thorne, my home town, full of little shops that support each other normally, this company makes me feel ashamed .....
We went to look for some artificial grass. It was our first time going out to look for it and didn't expect to find it at the first shop. They had a great variety of choice from budget to top quality. The staff were very helpful.
