I have visited this lodge several times after being widowed 8 years ago. I don't fly fish but loved the ambience, attention to detail from the staff and the most incredible meals. I was surprised how few Kiwis were there enjoying this beautiful spot. For a solo traveller I highly recommend a visit.

Owen River Lodge is a must stay place if you enjoy great service, great company, great scenery, and great fishing. The fishing isn't always easy, but the rewards are great. It has a reputation for the best wild brown trout fishery in the world. See photos below for proof.
