There would be at least twenty vans here. We stayed on a Friday night. Well sign posted with info. However be aware, ear plugs may be an idea as 6am on a Saturday and people are out and about slamming doors and walking and talking. Locals came around early evening with their loud music. Train station, New World all within a five minute walk.
Top place sometimes have to squeeze in but worth it
We've stayed here twice now, great location if just arriving from Wellington or heading back down. Toilets cleaned every morning, there's a tap for waterbottles but not to fill a campervan. Cute views :
One of the most beautifull spots to camp. Lots of space and flat areas and the toilets are open all night. Keep in mind it can get very windy here
