I contacted this place just to inquire about booking a caravan spot and the receptionist lady that picked up the phone was extremely rude she was violently yelling at me, forcing me to give her my credit card details and absolutely unacceptable conduct. The price for 1 night was ridiculously high too. This place is a disgrace for having staff that treat customers with such disrespect and impatience. Would never recommend this place even if it was the last campervan van station in new Zealand!
Very noisy, and lots of rules for staying. Says pet friendly but there is only one area at the back of the camp where you're actually allowed to walk your dog.
I loved this place! Great, central, comfortable, clean little cabin, good kitchen and shower/bathroom facilities, and very kind and hospitable owners Billie. Highly recommended.
The unit cost $170 but without a bathroom or water. This was motel equivalent but given peak season and at short notice ok if the rest was good. The heat pump didn’t work - as the unit was a container it was freezing in spite of three layers of thermal clothing. The double mattress had no apparent lining - just springs - so nothing to retain heat. The spas were old and tepid - there were six people using them who were all wearing clothes not togs in the pools. Use of the pool caused a rash. The showers had very low pressure. The location is on a truck by-pass which didn’t bother those using ear plugs but meant it was preferable to drive the very short distance to town and there was a refuse like smell in the morning - not clear if this was from rubbish on site or associated with the industrial nature of the area. An item was forgotten but it was not handed in until reported missing and, to have this returned, a mail bag had to be sent to them - adding time and money to the cost meaning it could not be used for the rest of the holiday and wasn’t worth it. Capital seems to have been invested in a self service check in that wasn’t properly working processing payments and car security gates. Booking was prompt with a good tip on local bush walk. The unit was clean.
We stayed here for the labour weekend, the pool and spa was really good nice and clean, also we didn't enjoyed the weather there on Sunday as it was raining and thunderstorm there but we enjoyed Saturday weather as it was sunny on that day. The cabin was okay but only problem was the trucks passing by during my bedtime.
