Ōtātara Children’s Centre aims to work in partnership with whānau and community to provide outstanding education and care to the children of Hawke’s Bay.
At Ōtātara we aim to provide a service where children and families feel welcome and respected.
Each child is assigned a key teacher who takes overall responsibility for the well-being, learning and development of the child and who is the main point of contact for the family.
We provide a calm, natural and nurturing environment with plenty of opportunities for learning and development according to each child’s individual interests and needs.
Care moments are perceived as vital learning opportunities. These times are unhurried, nurturing and responsive to each child’s emotional and developmental needs.
We perceive children as active and creative learners, thinkers and investigators. We aim to help them develop a passion for exploration and learning along with the skills needed for enquiry and research.
