If your into boating then you can launch from Tauranga Bay beach if you have 4wd or drive 10 min to launch from Whangaroa Harbour.

The New Zealand Department of Conservation maintains an excellent range of tracks in the Tauranga Bay area, providing walks and longer hikes to some awe-inspiring scenery and ‘hidden’ treasures of nature.
Also in the area are a number of golf courses within a short drive from Tauranga Bay including the Whangaroa Golf Course and the prestigious Kauri Cliffs - only 20 minutes away. The KeriKeri Golf Club is also just a 40 minute drive from Tauranga Bay.
