I love the lake walk, but it's sad to see so many houses around it now.
This is a wonderful place for a nice walk. Great tracks, fantastic scenery and a fabulous variety of bird life. Our 8 year old daughter found the walk really good. There is a nice little playground. There is also some nice seating dotted around the lake.
Nice to catchup with this area, and see that work is being done to maintain the shrubs and trees. There are some good healthy gorse bushes, which need attention but I'm sure that will happen. The lake was always a popular choice for our children to swim in when we were here for our 2 weeks holiday. Now our grandchildren come up and bring their friends. The lake walk has always been a favourite walk, and will continue to be so.
Great place to freedom camp, didn't swim in the lake but is a possibility
Kids just lovednthe duck feeding . Lot of walks around the lake and a nice view of Mt. Taranaki
