We stayed here 31/5 to 2/6/24. On arrival met greeted by the owner and cute guard dog. Me n my daughters loved how peaceful the camp grounds are. Our cabin was warm and very cosy loved it. Showers n all amenities amazing. A big hi 5 to you and your staff thank you, from the 1 that broke the plate
Stunning views, accommodating staff, reasonable prices! Beautiful secluded black sand beach. I had some car troubles which led to a very late arrival and the hosts were so helpful amidst my trouble. One of the cheapest campsites I've ever come across and my site was huge, right next to bathrooms showers and kitchens, and was powered. Highly recommend for any travelers passing through this part of the island or anyone looking for a little getaway.
What a wee gem to find over Easter weekend. My daughter and son-in-law took me camping. A very picturesque beautiful, and well appointed campsite with the beach at a stone's throw. Immaculately clean and very friendly staff. The town and area were great places to explore. We left with definite plans to return with the whole family and to recommend to our friends.
A great place to stay and enjoy the beach life with camp sites and cabins. A good communal kitchen, toilet/shower and laundry areas.Nice beach with a surf life saving club on the beach. Shelley who runs the site was very lovely and very knowledgeable about the area. Opunake township is only minutes up the road with basically everything you may need. Well worth staying at
Such a lovely holiday park. The man who welcomed me was very nice and friendly. Everything is super clean, tidy. Big kitchen. A stone away from the beach. So quiet. Really loved sleeping there.Location: 5/5
We really enjoyed our stay at this campground. We had a van and didn’t need a powdered site. It was $60 for us two people. Showers, toilets, laundry and kitchen were clean and functional. Staff were friendly and the little shop onsite had most things you need. The little town nearby also has some cool secondhand shops & a nice cafe with great pies. Nearby activities: The beach is right at your doorstep
Great location & was packed with holidaymakers on Boxing Day, it's a very popular beach & campground. The only negative was the women's public toilet - especially as it's used by so many on a very hot day! Sand everywhere, not much loo paper left & the soap dispenser was empty. But overall, my partner & I enjoyed eating our packed lunch while taking in the sights & sounds. Awesome to see lifeguards patrolling the beach & swimmers staying between the flags, as there's still far too many tragic drownings at sea in NZ every year which are mostly preventable. Stay safe out there! ‍
Very nice place and near the beach. Everyone is respectful and amenities were in good condition. Bathrooms smelled kinda foul. Rooms need a ventilation system as it feels suffocating if the window is not open it was cold so we opted to not open the window
Excellent holiday park. Large spacious facilities, lots of showers and toilets with plenty of room. There was plenty of room on our powered site for our caravan annex a double swag and our ute.Rooms: 5/5
Taranaki s best beach and very chilled camp ground. If you love authentic NZ , a sheltered campsite, a flat safe surf beach perfect learning bay and lifeguards , excellent amenities and a kiwi country town nearby, with all you need, you will love staying in Opunake! Your small.dog is welcome too and the very busy owners make time for you. We will.be back!
