Welcome to Opotiki Bait and Tackle!
We cater for ALL seasonal fishing and hunting...

Opotiki bait and Tackle was established in 1999. We (Keith and Chrissy) bought the business in 2005 and since then, we have expanded the building and product range.

The business was founded in the first instance as a bait shop which we still specialise in today. We have a great selection of quality bait instore and cater for both small and bulk orders.
Most of our bait is pre-packed instore by us and we also supply
to other businesses. We also sell exclusive bait such as octopus.

We pride ourselves in the service we provide our customers and therefore our doors are open 7 days a week. This allows us to fulfill our customers needs at any time. We are a friendly team who like to share our knowledge on the best local fishing spots.

We happily outfit all perspective fishermen to ensure they are equipped with the correct gear to catch the targeted species of fish in the area. We also offer rigging and training for people who are interested in surfcasting. We have a full range of outdoor equipment and hunting gear including lights, headlights, spotlights, knives and amo etc.

We sell most popular fishing brands: Penn, Berkley, Gamykatsu, Abu Gracia, Okuma, Silstar, Black Magic and many more. We are agents for Kentiki, Electronic Kentiki and winches and sell our own exclusive range of traces to use with Kentiki products. Our customers are always provided with expert advice before they leave our store. We are also agents in the Eastern Bay of Plenty for Stoney Creek clothing and have been stockists of this range since our inception.

Customer satisfaction is of great importance to us, we always offer the most genuine and friendliest of service and we pride ourselves in knowledge and helfulness to all of our customers.
As we live on-sight and we understand that people are often travelling, a quick phone call will ensure that we will open the store for you on your way through to the coast.
