Open Mic Night at the Matakana Village Pub every Thursday evening!
Be a part of our supportive and creative community of musicians, poets and performers. Every Thursday night we run an open mic which is all about having fun and developing local and visiting talent. We guarantee something different every week and provide a perfect opportunity to network, and interact with other musicians and performers.
Performers are allowed to perform 3 songs or fill a time of 15 minutes, covers and original compositions are perfectly acceptable and we love to hear what you have to offer.
We provide the PA, leads, mics, small bongo drums, tambourines, shakers.
Performers will need to BYO guitars, amps, pedals etc.
Generally, first performance starts at 7:30pm and sign ups are encouraged on the night.
The night usually ends with performers jamming with one another and exploring new material and ideas. We do accept pre-bookings in the event of band setups and other acts which may require preparation or sound checks.
