Yellowfin Tuna was prepared perfectly, the sauce that came with it soy based, with cashews and bamboo shoots worked wonders.
The food was great! Interesting place with a nice mood
I look at restaurant reviews before making a booking , main focus is the quality of the food. Wait staff come and go, they can have an unfairly large influence. The two of us had a very pleasant main course each. The amount was just right for us although there were enough breads, starters and sides to cater to any appetite. The front staff could not have been better, very helpful. When on holiday I like to eat local produce and wines. I can recommend a bottle of the Marsden Rose 2017. It went very well with the seafood.
This place was recommended to us by a friend. The lady that served us was more interested in talking on her mobile than to seat us or take our order. And i noticed that other customers were also slow to be attended to. The fettucine that i ordered was strangely VERY sweet but the fish on top was cooked nicely. On a positive note, the raw fish entree and flounder cooked in almond butter main was tasty and i quite liked the ambience and decor of the place
Gr8 experience at this restaurant. Fresh, clean seafood and tasty. Great service, waiter explained menu very well. It was very busy, but we still received pretty good service. Reasonable price. One starter, Two entree, two mains, two drinks only $120ish.
I have always wanted to visit this place, since I have been travelling to Paihia, however due to one or other reason couldn't. This time we were lucky and on a Wednesday the place was not busy at all. Ambiance was great. Me and my friend had seafood chowder and it was different compared to other places 6/10. The baked garlic bread was out of the world 9/10 Entree were prawns with chilli / garlic 9/10. Snapper and salmon both as mains were very tasty although to me snapper felt too grilled. 7/10 both, Size was quite small for the price. The sides were OK. In General food was lovely however pricey. Without the dessert or drinks we raked up to 150$ bill. Probably just a once only place to try.
Came in on a Monday evening with my wife and two young boys already tired from a long day of adventure. Hostess seated us a little back from other patrons, near the toilets, and out of sight from the TV... positioning couldn't have been better. Service was fast and friendly, and the food was amazing - great sized portions with a rich and well matched array of flavours. I'd definitely recommend coming here, and I'll certainly be back.
It seems we visited this restaurant at just the wrong time. It felt a bit odd that only three tables in the whole place were filled after we had passed by several fully-packed restaurants, but we stayed anyways. Bad decision. We were essentially just pointed towards the dining room by the girl at the door, and our server walked past our table multiple times before even greeting us. She seemed nice but had trouble understanding what we asked for Native French speaker? and seemed to have little or no knowledge about the menu. When our food came, the flounder tasted as if someone had taken a whole jar of caper juice and poured it onto the plate. The mussels seemed dry as if they had been left out for hours, and the oysters looked fresh but were so fishy as to be downright inedible. The salad was the best part of the meal, plated elegantly and with a great dressing. Apart from this one positive, our night was one of the worst dining experiences in recent memory, and it ended up ironically being the most expensive meal for our whole vacation. Wholly unrecommended.
Walked out of this restaurant feeling unhappy and unsatisfied. The portions were ridiculously small, which would usually be acceptable for 'fine dining' but this was very basic and not 'fine dinning' at all. We ordered calamari for an entre, which was a little soggy pile of very thin strips. Then the flavours of our mains did not work well together at all. At the end of the night we ended up stopping in at Legends Restaurant to fill ourselves up we are not big eaters which we then spent the next night at because the prices and food was much more up to standard. On the plus side - service was nice and nice location.
Waited over an hour for our meal Fish Portions were pathetically small and the fish slice had obviously sat around so long it was dried out. No vegetables on menu! The green salad was a small piece of lettuce which included a living worm! Waiter was indifferent when shown! We left hungry! Outdoor seating is pleasant but food and service does not equate to expensive meal prices and portion sizes.
