Story

We strive to deliver industry leading cutting services for our customers. We constantly keep up with ever evolving technology as well as ensure we deliver accurate, efficient and quality services.

North Shore Plate Cutting was incorporated in 1998 by Pete Herd whose expertise spanned from being a qualified tool setter with a CNC background.

With the business going from strength to strength, soon their factory in Beach Haven was no longer suitable for the addition of a new Laser cutting machine that was on order.

In 2002 we moved to a larger factory in Albany where we began operating a new state of the art Laser cutting machine. It was at this point that Ken Alchin and Tim Ryder, who had been with the company for a few years, took the opportunity to buy into the business.

In 2004 we expanded further by purchasing a second Laser cutting machine that was placed in the building next to the Albany factory. Realising that to future proof the business we needed to look to purpose build a facility where we could house all our existing machinery and any future cutting machines we might expand to include.

By 2007 we had moved into our new factory in Silverdale where we added a third Laser cutting machine. The new facility allowed us to streamline our production process and improve our overall service.

By 2010 we invested in a brand new Plate Cutter.

Latest editions of an Amada tube cutting laser, 4m 180Ton CNC pressbrake, rolling equipment, welding, the list goes on

This has opened us up to another market segment.
Our full service offering makes us the One Stop Cutting Shop that we are today.
