Overall the visit was ok - food was tasty and so were the drinks, loved that you could order from the table. However, we did experience one rude staff member when asking if we could grab some condiments no response, rolling eyes, and more or less dropping a bottle of tomato sauce on the table before walking away.Food: 4/5
There are 2 main reasons that the Favourite Husband and I hadn’t previously been to The Island. Firstly we are several lifetimes too old to go there and secondly the playground. I’m slightly allergic to small children and there always seems to be a lot of them there. Imagine my delight then to discover that there was an R18 area. Genius. We were meeting the extended FamBam who are all very familiar with The Island and the menu. The cocktails weren’t bad, but there was no margarita on the list and I don’t like to ask for fear of being labelled the problem child of the group. I loved being able to order using the QR code from the table. This is the type of “modern technology” that appeals to me and I strongly believe more places should offer it. Portions were generous. Flavours were good. The Thai beef salad was really nice, with chargrilled steak and the pickled ginger was a nice touch. There was a lot of dressing which overwhelmed the dish a bit. The burgers were really juicy, the loaded fries and chicken wings were also full of flavour and generous portions. The pizza was a hit. Look, I can’t find fault. I’m not going to try. It was pub food done really well. Good value and a good night. Service was friendly and fast. It’s not “fine dining” but it’s not trying to be. Good work.
Love the vibes and Pizza is fantastic. Beautiful classic pizza dough done in wood fired oven. Highly recommend the brisket loaded fries!! Neat how you can order online from your table. Food is always served quickly. The beer selection is awesome! They have a great covers band playing on the first Sunday of the month, called the Midnight Fizz. Definitely get in there and check them out!
We hadn't been since under new management but thought we'd give it a go. Was welcomed with a friendly hey guy's come on in. Was showed around and made very welcome. Food was great had a share platter and was very delicious. Much better atmosphere and very professional friendly staff, will definitely go back and bring friends and family for dinner.
We had korean and original chicken wings, pulled pork burger and potato skins. Everything was amazing but the pulled pork was absolute delicacy! Live music also great, we’ll definitely come back.
Absolutely disappointed at everything today. Not only where the staff completely rude, but they messed up my order and actually argued back. We went to order and the staff where more interested with having a conversation with each other than us. Then my food was given to another table completely because they forgot to add another number. The argued that we had messed up even though I ordered straight after another person in my party ordered. The female who dropped off my food said absolutely nothing with the worst scowl on her face and stormed off. If I acted like this at my job I’d be fired on the spot. Do better.
Absolutely was not impressed with the food as some of it was uncooked. the waiter who had us was a great guy and made my family and i crack up in laughter, honestly he made our night thanks to the guys the the ear tattooFood: 2/5
Super atmosphere. Staff nice but food not great. Ribs were cold and a bit flavourless. The potato skins over cooked but edible. Caesar salad was dry and bacon in it was one big slap and sadly the egg was stone cold . The salmon was nice and a large serving but the salad that came with it was just ok The kids pasta was pretty basic but ok for kids. Drinks were pricey but ok
Fantastic food, well presented. Would happily recommended anyone in the area coming here for a meal.
Awesome place! Pretty chilled, good decor, nice atmosphere. The service is great and I definitely recommended trying the bbq! Out the gate! Tap beer is local and tastes amazing!!!
