Story

Opened on Valentine's Day, 1973, Ollies is New Zealand's favorite ice cream parlour and eatin' house. Colin Haines, world-famous in Royal Oak, is the man who founded such a fine institution and is still at the helm. He is a pioneer of sumptuous burgers, heavenly sundaes and amazing shakes.

Ollies is located at the iconic Royal Oak Roundabout, just a hop, skip and jump from Auckland's One Tree Hill Domain.

Always nice food & pleasant staff. Choc dipped ice creams ,not many do these nowadays. Actually met the owner today,who has owned Ollies for 48 yrs..nice to chat with him
Cant fault. We were with a group of 7. The lady serving was very patient with all the orders. We all got seats but was getting busy as we were leaving. The couple of arcade games around the back were cheaper to play that other game halls. Good dessert menu. Those that had hot chips, wedges and burgers all enjoyed their meals.
This place is an icon of royal oak. My family and i have neen coming to this place for 30+ years. The flavours of ice cream are fantastic as well as the food menu. Recommend this place highly.
Yumm-oh! The name of the place says it all, burgers and ice-cream. No complicated recipes or fusion-this-or-that and, not over-priced either. Simple menu, just done well.
I feel like this place could be awesome if the gaming machines were all up and running. The food is ok but overpriced and nothing special. A large selection of ice cream choices and limited edition flavors makes it a exciting place to go.

Came here yesterday. Ice cream was nice but scoops used to be bigger with previous staff. New staff is alright but weren’t as friendly.
An institution, and a must in the summer. It's quite rundown and could use some TLC. But the ice cream selection is good. Parking is on the street though most park in the KFC parking lot. Unfortunately, it is not wheelchair accessible.
Ollies still the same since i was a little girl..would never want it to change either its nice having some things still the same from the past espicially if it's good memories i love mallow coconut, butterscotch pecan and salted caramel..yuumm
