Fresh and unpolluted in the colder months - in summer there are nearly more people swimming than friendly eels. Someone should set up an jumping platform or better still, run an inflatable water park here.
Really weird place. Some really cool ruins, though unfortunately most of it is fenced off as it's a "dangerous" area. I did see a notice mentioning some ongoing plans of talks with the government to make this area accessible, so that would be nice.
Great place to explore. Dont be put-off by the road. Heaps of room at the bottom. Very historic & lovely scenic spot.
What a fantastic spot to explore It would get 5 if the locals kept their dogs on leads and or under control. Two sets of dogs came running up to us and when they are big dogs it's not a nice experience. Otherwise definitely worth the visit!

A hidden treasure in Warkworth. We love it here. Bring life jackets for your little ones so they can swim and have fun without you worrying too much as it is very deep. The teens love doing their bombs. Great picnic areas. Make it a day out with the family and don't forget your water toys. Toilets are clean. Dog friendly.
Fun for the kids. Water has a weird taste. Personally I would much rather go to a clean, flowing river or the ocean, but it can be a fun place for the kids every now and then, especially when there are no crowds.
Great swimming hole to have a picnic at, and a good place for photography. The walking track is very popular too. just a shame about the road down and carpark is rubbish. But for me still worth the travel.
It is the ruins of an old cement works it very bad preserved, so there is no safe access to the ruins. You can walk along the river. And enjoy the tranquility of the area. Nice place to go for a quick picnic if you dont have anything better planned.
Absolutely beautiful space. Nice dam for family swim and grass for picnics. Decent parking. Toilets at entrance. A lovely day experience.
