Good local supermarket. Needs an upgrade, which hopefully will come with the new subdivision going up. Constricted by current space otherwise.

Surprised New World has allowed this our of date supermarket to continue. With million dollar subdivisions being built in the area not every one wants to be classed as a criminal and needing to open their handbags at checkout

Was feeling bad after I shopped today in this branch. We don't normally shop here but we came from Trade Depot and we saw this shop and decided to do our shopping here on the way home. All was good until the cashier asked to check my very small bag and said it was store policy. I happily obliged, said sure and let her open my bag and searched but felt insulted. I don't know if it's because I'm asian because i didn't see them check others. I would never shop here ever again. We've been shopping at New World Te Rapa but never experienced this kind of treatment and customer service even if i'm holding a big backpack. Worst customer service. Don't shop here, they will make you feel like a thief. No star review at all!

Average. Paid for my stuff then the checkout chick reckons “oh we have a bag check policy” so wanted me to show her the inside of my small handbag.? Maybe get some loss prevention or security in instead of asking to check bags at the end. Kind of rude too ,considering no where else is that invasive. I bet you guys are losing heaps of business with this approach. Next time I’ll go to pak n save.

Friendly staff, and the bakery produces excellent baps, not those mean tiny stingy rolls you get from the competition.

I went to the supermarket, after the pandemic, after government had taken the "security for the pandemic off" unfortunately except for 1 customer service person I knew there, the whole situation had changed! Unfortunately, not safe to shop there, no social distancing, no face mask required, no self service area- cannot even call up , get the items of item ,get them at customer service, that service has gone unfortunately - supervisor - no time, too busy! Used to be a very good supermarket to go to, but unfortunately now, not the best, guards cannot "control queues, not possible" so definitely not safe place for shopping unfortunately! I don't think they care on customer safety unfortunately! After pandemic, much has changed! More difficult for safe shopping unfortunately! If u do care, go for it! If you do care, stay well away! Not worth the problems involved!

Hate this place won't go back. Wanted to check my bag policy they say. My bags so small it doesn't even hold a wallet. Literally my bank card and ph. Oh yip I've got a giant cucumber sticking out of my pants. Offended much. I'm not a thief but for some reason they made me feel like 1

The service was okay however I was rudely asked to show inside my handbag which was very small and clearly could not fit anything more than a wallet an pH in there. I didn't mind showing my handbag however it was the way I was approached about it .

Nice small and friendly shop, they had lots of missing items I was after. Had to go to another shop.
