Called in today to get something on the Whanganui River Scenic Ride. The building was shut due to a power outtage. I appreciate these sort of things can happen, but perhaps make some standby provision of a good range of leaflets etc at the local library. Or better still, also have staff relocate there temporarily. The library had no leaflets that could help us, only local town maps.nOne disappointed tourist.
Another great i-SITE with wonderful staff.nThis one even has a relief model of the region, showing all the mountain peaks and hiking/biking/skiing trails.
Really good information centre. Really cool unique vintage postcards. The lady there was awesome! Totally lovely

Stopped in to personally thank them for helping me thru emails for planning my visit in Ohakune. Had a thoroughly enjoyable conversation with the woman at the desk - sorry, never got a name. This Visitor Info Center is chocked full of suggestions and information of what is in the area. Thanks for making my vacation plans come true.
