Great location, stroll to shops and beach. The unit is comfy enough but a little tired and the bathroom needs improving. Our unit had a patio with water glimpses, two chairs but no table.
Oceans Resort Whitianga was perfect for a relaxing three-night stay. The apartment, complete with washer/dryer and fully-equipped kitchen, was a welcome change from formal hotels. It was great to be able to casually plan our own meals, and a small grocery store was conveniently located just around the corner. A scenic cruise of Mercury Bay and the Marine Reserve was on our to-do list, and the boat docks were only a short walk down the beach.nnThe Resort Manager and housekeeping staff were incredible. After our first night, there was a problem with the TV in the living room. When the Resort Manager came the next day to assist, she found a potential electrical issue and insisted that we move to a different apartment. After looking at several unoccupied units, we just moved to a similar one right next door. They are independently owned condos, so are naturally all different. Our new apartment was much nicer with better furnishings, tasteful color selections and decor, etc. We certainly appreciated being able to change from Apartment 6 to Apartment 7.
Great to see the standard of Oceans Resort hasn't changed over the years - we've just had another excellent stay. We've been here 7 or 8 times since 2012 and its always great. Clean, well stocked, and just as described. Great location. To be fair the pool is always too cold for me to use, but with Lost Spring literally right next door its never been an issue. This time we were 3x couples in the 2 bedroom + sleep out room and it really is the perfect layout for that. Thanks again for an awesome stay!!
Just a block from the beach and less than a kilometer to shops and attractions this is a great seaside getaway. The units are large and well appointed. We only had two people, but the units can hold much more in comfort. On site pool for when the ocean is cold. The staff in the office are wonderful. It is a wonderful place to enjoy a quiet family vacation.
Highly recommend this resort for a stay in Whitianga. We stayed in a beautiful apartment, modern and very comfortable. Spotlessly clean, beautiful linen.Managers were friendly and helpful. 2 minutes walk to the beach and town. The grounds were well kept. Lovely pool and tennis court. Hope to back one day :
