We rang ahead for information after the recent storm, flooding and road closures before travelling. The staff member we spoke to was extremely friendly and offered very helpful information.nnCheck-in was easy and stress-free. Our room was spotlessly tidy, spacious and very comfortable. We had air conditioning and comfortable long chairs in the lounge, perfect for relaxing after a busy day outdoors. There was a TV in both the lounge and one of the bedrooms, which was a nice bonus. The property also featured two bathrooms/showers, a washing machine/dryer and an outdoor verandah upstairs with a beach view beyond the first row of houses. There was a small driveway in front of our accomodation for our vehicle and we were pleasantly surprised by how quiet the area was. Its a shame we didn't get to the heated pool or tennis court but we will on the next trip. The resort is just one street away from town and the beach making it easy to get around.nnOverall, an excellent stay! Great accomodation and super-friendly staff - it truly felt like a home away from home. We highly recommend Oceans Resort to anyone and would happily stay here again. Thanks so much Oceans Resort! 5 stars!
What a horrible service, looks like the Resort hired a robot instead of an actual person. The robot named Bailey the duty manager of this resort. Someone who was not considerate to ours feelings at all, not sympathetic to the current situation. All she valued was the money the resort was not going to get when I requested for a refund. The reason for asking the refund, on January 21st New Zealand's upper north island was hit with a disaster that caused a red alert for all surrounding areas to evacuate due to severe weather conditions, rain, wind, flooding and land slides. When we realized we couldn't make it to our resort we called to request a refund. She denied it saying its non-refundable. So would I have to risk my husband and 3 children's lives to get to that area, no. I soon found out all roads to Whitianga were cut off, in panic I called the agent to say what was happening, they understood my situation and agreed to talk to the Resort to get me a refund, she refused them that again. Very upset with the situation I didn't know what to do, cried and waiting for the agent to give me some news. If we cancelled the booking we would loose our money, if we didn't arrive it would be considered a no show and still charged. We had no way of re-booking in the future as we didn't know when we would get to travel next, we would also be charged a rebooking fee every time we would move the booking. Bailey the non-human duty manager of this resort would be the worst and last person to ever trust in an emergency situation like this. She had no care for me or my family, she showed us she was not a people person. Iam sure the rooms would have been great, the location even better, but guess what we will never be seeing this because we will not be re-booking with this Resort ever again while visiting Whitianga again.
clean, spacious, well lit, good/complete facilities laundry, kitchen and bathroom.nclose to the beach and the town, the lady in reception gave secveral great recommendations for dinner and breakfast as well as several coupons for discounts on those meals.
Very spacious appartment. Great views from balcony and master bedroom. Kitchen fully equipped, we used it for breakfast. Could have been a little cleaner duvets in need of cleaning!. Friendly and helpful staff at the reception!
Great unit. Rooms were clean and tidy. Pool was lovely and warm
