Next NZ holiday will definitely include a couple of nights here at Tairua as we really liked what we saw as we headed down the Coromandel coast. Lovely beaches and just a great looking wee town
Great beach, very pretty waters good got life guards too during summer. Waves can be a bit dumpy so be aware!
Great beach for a brisk walk, brillant for experienced surfers
Great beach in Tairua, which is slightly off the beaten track and, therefore, more popular with locals than tourists. The sand and the sea are both gorgeous. The only downside is the lack of any facilities other than lifeguards.
Ocean beach on a rainy day is a serene place, with a sense of isolation. Despite Tairua township nearby, the beach felt like its own world. The sand was cool, and walking alongside the crashing waves strangely peaceful. The water was dark and deep with the sky full of sinuous clouds draping the surrounding hills. The weather was refreshing and invigorating. The beach had a calming effect and made me feel rejuvenated.
