Just experienced a tour around the island with the very witty Rhys being our guide. Thanks for a very informative trip and thanks for stopping for the sand collection! nVery accommodating!
Information, shop and booking tours for 'Real Journeys'. Take a quick bus trip around the island to get your bearings and enjoy the stories from the witty driver. Ulva Island is magnificent. Small group size with the local guide means you get to see and learn, a whole lot more about Stewart Island. We happened to have the same guide for our Kiwi Experience. Seeing kiwi in the wild and up close, made me a very happy kiwi.
Lovely friendly staff. So grateful to Helen for her help getting me a last minute bike to rent overnight, despite it being just 5 mins til their closing time! Having that bike added so much to my time spent on Rakiura.
As you come off the ferry the visitors centre is on your right.nAs you come off the plane bus it is to the left. Easy to find and very informed people. As with most people living on the island giving visitors help and cheer is part of your usual day.nI heard the workers explaining about alternatives and support all businesses. The building is called the red shed. You can use eftpos and credit cards and they help with bookings for tours and accommodation.nThey also have souvenirs for yourself or entire family.nLots of maps and pamphlets plus help for no cost.
