Growing up here and being away for 30yrs, coming back and staying here was absolutely delightful. We had a two bedroom family unit that was warm and comfy. A little older but has everything you need and has had a wee face lift to prove there’s plenty of life left in her.nWalking distance to town, with supermarket, cafes and shops. Was nice to take a walk down memory lane and see what still is, what is no longer and what is now. Gore is a beautiful town and a this motel is a great place to stop and experience it.
Perfection. We had no reservation, showing up at 5:00 PM. Great value. Chose the newer studio units, we had room 12, the closest to the main street / NZ 1. Bit of street noise but slept well, no impact from noise, the highway is not so busy at night. Plus the right of way sidewalks, trees, etc is incredibly wide, providing buffer. In the morning it takes exactly 2 seconds to get rolling down NZ 1. The room was super clean with new furnishings, desk, comfy bed, crisp linens, kitchen sink, counter, fridge, microwave, dish ware, cutlery, TV, shelvings, modern armoire, chairs on little patio outside your door. Room 12 has special fixtures to help people with mobility needs. Everything was newish and in perfect order. Gentleman that checked us in was nice, provided milk for morning coffee full set of coffee and tea stuff in room. You will almost certainly be happy with this place. Gore is a very nice town, we walked from this hotel to most everything in town including dinner, and felt completely safe, lots to see. Lovely.
We really enjoyed our stay here. Charming wee spot which is a hidden gem with a warm welcome from owners James and Kelly. The unit is of an older style externally which adds to the charm andnis well appointed and has been done up by the current owners with a lot of thought to the little things such as: nice headboards for the beds, great new table and chairs which look stylish and are very comfortable, comfortable lounge chairs to name a few. Im sure they will continue to make improvements too over time.It's very peaceful here and clean and tidy. The beds too are comfortable and we slept very well. Parking right outside the unit and good wifi also make the stay comfortable and easy. Gore offers some great eateries these days so we enjoyed our night out and were able to drive easily to Lumsden the next morning.
Have stayed a couple of times. Friendly greeting and checkout. Rooms are clean and tidy. Would recommend to people.
