So pissed off. Came to get my passport photo here which I payed $25 for. Passport photo was declined because iPad camera was too blurry and they hadn’t taken the photo correctly. Dept of internal affairs suggested I go elsewhere because it was the camera at fault which is what I did and photo was accepted straight away. They suggested I go back and get a refund to which the owner stood there and argued with me it was my fault because I hadn’t gone back to get a second photo. Won’t admit his camera sucks. Rip off. What a joke.
I wish I’d read these reviews first. I had 3 sets of documents to print from an email. The woman printed 1 set. I said ‘my email said 3 sets and you may as well copy the printed one’ because I had already waited so long— and thought it would be quicker. She came back with a total charge of $20. $3 for the first ‘print’, $1 per page after that. I commented on that being expensive. She said, ‘it is 30c per page if copied as in xeroxed but that it was $1 if a “printed” from an email’. I said ‘the 2 last sets which you copied from the first would be 30c a copy then’. ‘No,’ she said, ‘I used the email to print them’. So she cheated me out of 70c a copy for the 2nd and 3rd set and did not refund me. I personally consider this type of practice dishonest not only bad business. I will be sending an email to NZ POST telling them of this transaction. They may have dismissed the complaints regarding extravagant copying fees but this is a dishonesty complaint. I am positive NZ POST will not be dismiss this. I was in business and this is not the way to run a successful business. Surprised they have survived this long.
This is one of my favourite shops in Rotorua.nnIt's a typical but fast disappearing, small village post shop where people are friendly and many small but important services can be found. They do everything from lotto to vehicle registration and document printing. The owners are friendly and warm members of this tight community.nnIt's also a great place to pick up a last minute birthday gift which you can even pop in a prepaid post bag and send off if you need to. The Ngongotaha post shop gets a 10/10 from me.
If you get something printed there, better ask how much they charge. Only needed one page printed and they charged $3 ! What a rip-off compared to a library where it's 20c per page. Of course I was prepared to pay a bit more but never expected that much. Lesson learned.
The person who runs this shop makes a habit of being nasty to the elderly people in his community. Today he swore at my mother, after charging her more than $15 to scan not print a 25 page document which he did poorly. Avoid like the plague. NZ Post apparently have no standards for their franchises, but I will be contacting them.
