NZ Bulbs is New Zealand's largest mail order bulb supplier. If you've been looking for a specific type of bulb we're bound to have it. And if you're not sure what type of bulb you're after simply take a look at our website and view our extensive selection of bulbs available online.

Please note due to the seasonal nature of bulbs you can only order from us at certain times of the year.

Our bulbs that flower in Spring will be available to order online and from our printed catalogue between approximately mid February and the end of April each year.

Lilies and peonies are in our winter catalogue which is open from mid May to late August, and summer flowering bulbs such as dahlias, begonias and gladioli are available to order from early August to the end of October.

Absolutely delighted with our Hippeastream pots this year. Second year and repeat flowering is amazing. In fact, one of our reds purchased last year, has already had two flowers see photo with spent flower head and it is now flowering a second time. The white, second year flowering is stunning and looks like having 3 flowers. Well worth purchasing, they are beautiful. I’ve been ordering bulbs/tubers from NZ Bulbs for a few years now. NZ Bulbs have always been super helpful when I’ve had questions it was my first time growing tulips, dahlias and peonies and on one occasion when one or two tubers didn’t develop they sent replacements the following year. All my bulbs/tubers have grown really well and have been a great investment in my garden. They have great fact sheets on their website, which have also been super helpful. Orders do take weeks to get delivered once you’ve ordered, but that’s because you make a pre-order. They have clear information on their Shipping Page as to when to expect delivery. And they always arrived with plenty of time to plant. Thanks NZ Bulbs.
I ordered bulbs on the 14th of Sep and the website said they'd ship by end of month. I got the "order complete" email on the 9th of November. False advertising for one, and a 2 month delivery time - seriously!? I also ordered potted lilies as gifts - and what turned up were just bulbs in soil, so I won't be shopping here again
I ordered Asiatic Lillie’s and Xmas Lillie’s. They arrived much sooner than I expected. Well packed and arrived in great condition. A few of the bulbs didn’t strike 3 out of 12. Being new to bulbs I wasn’t sure if this was to be expected. I contacted NZ Bulbs. They explained they expect all bulbs to strike. Within a couple of days I received replacement bulbs. Far exceeded expectations. Thanks very much. Highly recommended.
Long waiting for delivery. Some bulbs were available when I ordered and paid, but unavailable by the dispatch time. The bulbs I received were too old and they have already grown up to 15cm long in the bulb packages, the plants end up not so healthy after the long waiting time in the bags. Would not buy any bulb from NZ bulbs ever again
Excellent customer service and follow up. One of the 3 pre-potted Lily bulbs did not sprout so they replaced with free bulbs. All arrived in very good time and are on track for Christmas flowering.
I have devoted nearly 3 years to this nursery, spending 100s of dollars on bulbs and recommending them to others. But this year I have found other nurseries that provide much better service. These nurseries will have your bulbs delivered to you so much faster! Not only are NZ Bulbs extremely slow, but so many times they have put the wrong bulbs in the packet, and I get something that I never ordered. Instead of accepting that they had made mistakes, I have been given excuses and put up with a graceless response as though they are above their customers! What really concerned me, was when I rang up one day and spoke to a new staff member on her first day. She was so excited about her new job and ready to do her absolute best for that company. Well a month later I rang again and spoke to the same lady. The difference in her manner was unbelievable. She was depressed and low and very flat. There was no longer any enthusiasium in her voice as there had once been. I myself have worked in a nursery and I worked for a boss who was finally made to resign due to bullying. I am not saying that the manager there is a bully, but my experience with him on the phone has not been good. He has not offered refunds for plants that havent grown well, some of his horticultural advice is incorrect and he has misread some of my emails and in my opinion has been most unpleasant in his response to me. Finally. after nearly 3 years of putting up with bad service and a refusal to accept any responsibility for it on their part, I sent them a very strongly worded complaint about their poor communication skills. This is a complaint that they deserved. The response I got was to be blacklisted by them and my money returned for my last 2 orders. Finally I was told that in future my emails would be blocked as they would not put up with my abusive emails. Fortunately for me, I had a therapy session after reading this response from them to me. I told my therapist exactly what I had written in that email, that they claimed was abusive, and she said to me, "That is not abusive, that is just a complaint." This nursery in no way deserves their high star rating. My advice is to search online for better nurseries that will deliver your bulbs much sooner, and although they too may make some mistakes, they will most probably be far fewer than what NZ Bulbs will make and you most probably will be treated with greater respect and appreciation for your business. I have one final word to add- I always grew up been told, "The customer is always right!" Well, I dont know about you? I am really wondering, whatever happened to that?!
I ordered a few lily bulbs at the end of June. Though it took some time for them to arrive got them early August, and one bulb had a snapped sprout. I messaged the team on Facebook, and they replaced it immediately. Great service!
It was terrible experience, ordered 5 weeks ago and still haven’t received. I rang them after a week, they said will be another 2 wks time. After 3 wks, rang them again, they said will be ready next week. Now I consider it’s my loss and will not buy anything again. Hopefully this will help people make decision if they want to buy in the future. Many thanks
