Update 04/14/2022 Forget everything I said. more to follow.... So far our experience with the sales team at Nu homes has been phenomenal. Our sales rep, Ronda Bailey, is a superstar. I assume the rest of the sales team must also be great. Like the saying goes, “birds of a feather flock together”. Their attention to detail, response times, knowledge and support are the kinds of attributes that give you that warm fuzzy feeling where you know you made the right decision. Ronda has guided us through every step of the build process so far. Our next big step in the process is the design review meeting. The meeting is typically held face to face but given that we are currently in New Jersey we will have to make it a zoom meeting. I’ll post an update of how our meeting went. Given how things have gone so far expect this meeting will also exceed expectations. To be continued... Well, we had our design review meeting and as I expected the meeting exceeded our expectations. Of course having the meeting face to face would have been ideal but given that we are in NJ the zoom meeting worked out great. Ronda and Patience took their time with us, explained things in detail, and were very honest and upfront telling us when certain colors we might have picked were not very complimentary. My wife and I are very happy with Nu Homes and we scored a homerun getting connected with Ronda.Services: Predesigned floor plans for homes
Nuhomes, which used to be 4Corners, built my home last year. This was our 2nd home build experience so I know what should have happened. The floorplan checked all of our boxes and we had a good experience selecting a floorplan and lot. They were very responsive at that point. But once we signed the contract and paid the earnest money, things went downhill. Their main problems are with management and the fact that they cannot keep people employed. They made mistakes on our design selections, and no one really knew where to point the finger. Then there were multiple corners cut during the construction process. They say you're not supposed to go to the build site, but we caught so many errors through regular site inspections that we would not have caught otherwise. Lights that were forgotten, finishes that were selected, etc. Toward the end the building supt. became very difficult to contact, we would leave multiple voice mails and texts before we would hear back. Then came the closing delays which really created problems for us. Their finishes were so sloppy and messy, it was like they chose any contractor they could find for the flooring and tile! The tile is not straight in areas and the grout was all over the place. The flooring started to buckle within weeks and there are gouges in the cabinets, trim, and doors. We put blue tape on so many things during our walk throughs, just to find out that the issues were not resolved after closing. Faucets were loose, toilets were loose, the home was not cleaned before we moved in. They literally laid the sod over trash in the yard, and we are still having random plastic bottles pop up from under our sod. So glad we got an inspection even though we were way out of time because they didn't insulate over the entry way at all and the inspector found leaks, a/c vents that were closed in the duct work, and holes all over our roof from the painters that nailed a wood board to the roof to paint the upstairs part of the house! There is a one year waranty on finishes but they will only make tile/flooring repairs once, so you have to wait until you have multiple issues to get repairs. They said wall cracks were normal and my neighbors said they will not repair them unless they are bif enough for a nickel to fall through, and even then it is hard to get them to repair them. Think twice, do your homework, monitor the build, and get an inspection if you use them!!
UPDATE: REPLACING THE AC VENTS TO THE INSUDE OF HOUSE. ALL OF THE RETURN AC VENTS ARE OUT IF SQUARE BY AN INCH AND A HALF. NO WONDER THEY PUT COVERS IN. We bought our home in March 2020 when this builder was 4 Corners. I realize they are doing some things differently now that they are NuHomes. I wish I were more forceful about having things done at the time of my walk thru. For example. I am a 66 year old woman who has to climb up the attic stairs to change my AIR FILTERS. I asked the super MATT MAPLES no longer employed at Nu Homes to change them to the inside of the home and he said NO this is the way they are done. WELL NO IT ISN'T. It would be great if they would change this for me now that they are doing it the correct wayService: Project management
Poorly managed business. They don’t do what they say they will do. They blame everyone else for their delays and mistakes.
