Northcote Primary School was established on its Lake Road/Onewa Road site in 1918. The original building was replaced in the late 1970's by a custom designed flexible teaching space block. At the same time, the remainder of the school was extensively re-modelled internally. The school is fortunate to have a Staff who show a genuine commitment to their work and the children in their care. This is reflected in successive positive reports from the Education Review Office (ERO).
Classroom learning programmes are well resourced with modern technology and an Inquiry Learning approach, within language-rich environments. The School is well supported by a hardworking and skilful Board of Trustees. (BOT). A parent group known as "Friends of Northcote School" (FONS) provide support, by developing a community focus that includes family activities and funding/promoting projects. Our attractive site with extensive grounds, playing surfaces/structures and mature trees add much to the daily life of the School. Located on the site is a heated covered swimming pool and hall.
