I recently visited the Noel Leeming store in Whangarei, hoping to make a purchase, but my experience left much to be desired. As I walked in, I eagerly searched for a staff member to assist me, only to find an absence of support. Four employees were gathered behind the counter, engrossed in conversation, while another six were on the sales floor, either chatting amongst themselves or preoccupied on their phones.nnAfter patiently waiting for 15 long minutes without any assistance, I decided to leave empty-handed. Despite my visible frustration, the staff behind the counter seemed uninterested and avoided making eye contact.nnThis encounter was disheartening, especially knowing that customer service at this branch clearly takes a backseat. Unfortunately, this was not my first experience with long wait times here—previous visits have also left me waiting over 15 minutes for help. In contrast, I’ve never faced such challenges at Harvey Norman.nnIt’s unfortunate, but I can confidently say that I won’t be returning to Noel Leeming. I certainly wasn’t the only customer left waiting for attention that day, which only adds to my disappointment.nnI wholeheartedly recommend Harvey Norman for anyone in search of exceptional customer service coupled with great prices. They even offer price matching, ensuring you get the best deal possible!
Went in determined to buy a new phone. After hanging around the phone area could find no assistance. Meanwhile a young man was sitting behind a nearby desk eating crisps and chatting with a friend. I approached the counter and requested assistance. I was told to go back to the phone area, and someone would come. After five minutes waiting I left.
Absolutely pathetic service. Stood around for more than 15 minutes trying to get help — not a single staff member seemed remotely interested. One person in sight who clearly couldn’t care less. No greeting, no offer of assistance, nothing. It’s like customer service doesn’t exist here. If this is how they treat people wanting to spend money, I’d hate to see how they handle anything after a sale. Won’t ever be back — and I’ll be telling everyone I know to avoid this store.
Today a lovely, very polite young man called Caleb helped me with a problem I had with my phone. He fixed it right away and really made my day! Thank you so much for your help! Best service ever!
