We don’t get many of these places back home in Australia anymore, so it’s really great to see the small convenience stores still thriving here in NZ!nnThey’ve got a great selection of pretty much everything here that you need to either top up things at home or if you’re travelling like us and forgot a few things!nnHot tip - hit up the ice cream bar on a sunny day in Cromwell!nnStaff here are super friendly and quickly serve people even when it’s flat out. A few tables out front make it a nice place to stop and relax a bit.
I had the best veggie burger from Night 'n Day Cromwell! It was absolutely mind-blowing how filling it is, packed with a million ingredients, all for an amazing price. The day staff are incredibly nice and always have a smile on their faces.nThis is my experience at the times I frequent, which is midday.nThe loaded wedges are to die for!nnTheir sweet options are amazing, even better than New World's bakery! I went two days in a row for my veggie burger, which is made of chop suey – something I've never tried before. For fast food, I have to say I was truly impressed.nBurger two days in a row!nnThank youuuuuu!
My takeaways are always hit and miss. We don’t have them often because they are expensive. Have had chips with so much salt they were inedible. Told the big English guy and he was very off hand. Order tonight. 3 pieces of crumbed whiting. One piece was unrecognisable when we opened due to wrapping. The other 2 pieces were stuck together because they were still frozen and raw. Only cooked on the outside. Could have gone back but seriously by the time you return and say something it’s another 1/2 hour wait. !! Disappointed
Friendly quick service
Worse service I have ever received. The lady with the long dark hair youngish one laughed at the customer before because they had just shut the machines down and couldn’t make what he wanted. I was ignored for at least 10 minutes and then once she served me just yelled “next” when there was clearly a long line and I was already at the counter. There was no sorry no nothing just yelled next in our face. She was nothing but rude and shouldn’t work face to face with people in any job. I won’t be back to night n day.
