Story

I would like to welcome you to Next Generation and thank-you for choosing us to be a part of your families’ journey. We are a family run centre with long standing links to the local community.
Established in 1991 we view our business as an ever-evolving environment. The buildings were previously family homes, but are now sole purpose childcare centre’s providing quality care and education in an enjoyable home like environment.
As we strive for excellence in all aspects of Early Childhood Education we are constantly reviewing, updating and seeking out new ways of learning.
Over the last few years Next Generation has been involved in action research and has had our work published in Education journals. Our most recent research on Information Communication Technology in Early Childhood has seen our teachers present at many conferences and workshops throughout New Zealand. It has also meant our centre’s have had a constant stream of visiting teachers who will in turn incorporate our ideas in their own teaching.
The ripple effect of our work is something I am extremely proud of; it has taken a dedicated team of teachers to enable Next Generation to be apart of this exciting research.
For me Next Generation is not just a business, education is a passion. I am humbled to count amongst my highest achievements, the National Excellence in Teaching Award in 2006. This year we have another teacher nominated for this award.
We encourage family involvement. Through shared knowledge, support from families and a commitment to children’s learning we aim to expand children’s horizons and help to foster caring and achieving young individuals.
