I've been on a few hiking tours now and was very impressed with the professionalism shown by New Zealand Trails Office Staff and Guides. Such an easy, efficient service. I was kept up-to-date with all information and thoroughly enjoyed the hikes. Our two Guides were fantastic - informative, professional, fun, amazing chefs, caring towards we hikers. I will be returning to do more trips with this Company. Highly recommended!
Terrific five day guided tour from start to finish. It was a really nice introduction to New Zealand without being overwhelming. We had a great mix of hikes, helicopter, planes, water taxis, and tour boats with thoughtful accommodations and food for each day's adventure.
We've done a lot of traveling and have gone on many different tours. But none of them can match New Zealand Trails. Everything about our Masterpiece tour was superb. The itinerary, the guides, the accommodations and even the food was outstanding. The trip involves a good deal of hiking, which means you get to see and enjoy the South Island in a way that probably many other tourists miss. Because we were among the older members of our group, not all the hikes were for us. But no worry, the guides made sure there were options for us. We never felt like we missed out on anything. It was truly a beautiful experience! We'll never forget New Zealand.
NZ Trails brought the astonishingly beautiful South Island of New Zealand to life for me, enriching every aspect. From my first contact in booking until I was dropped at the airport, staff were incredibly helpful, first in preparing for the sort of trip I’d never taken before and then for understanding and appreciating the environment, history and culture. Some of the hikes were more strenuous than my usual ones but guides were encouraging and the pace was perfect. All the hotels were great and food was delicious. It was definitely an experience to remember.
We just enjoyed the trip of a lifetime hiking, biking and kayaking the North and South islands with New Zealand Trails. Breathtaking mountains and lakes, the most knowledgeable and enthusiastic guides ever, gorgeous hikes, delicious food and lovely traveling companions on both islands. I HIGHLY recommend New Zealand Trails. The office staff was wonderful during the planning stage and with changing plans when the island was closed for COVID. If you love outdoor adventure don’t miss the opportunity to travel withTis remarkable company!!!!
The hikes were amazing. We stopped to take photos and learn about plants, birds, and the ecosystems. Everything was taken care of for me - food, moving luggage, transport. It was great to be really on vacation.
Just finished the Pure South Tour with New Zealand Trails. It was amazing! This tour company goes the extra mile to ensure their guests have a wonderful experience. They guides are knowledgeable and helpful. If you are looking for an active, well planned trip, with great company, great food and great accommodations, I highly recommend New ZealandTrails.
We travel frequently for business and leisure and are pretty critical. This trip was by far our best, most enjoyable travel experience ever. The extensive thoughtfulness that went into the planning of the trip was evident at every turn. Making that look and feel seamless is another trick entirely, and Hayley did an extraordinary job of that even when she was thrown what we Americans call a curve ball. As last-minute bookers and first-time travelers to New Zealand, Jodi was incredibly helpful. Once we arrived we felt Hayley was always on the case - an absolute delight. We will be back.
Absolutely fantastic trip. I loved NZ Trails Great Walks 5day South Island tour. It was exceptionally well run and the staff were amazing. The pre-trip information ensured we were well prepared for the tour. I can't rate this company highly enough.
NZ Trails were so easy and friendly to deal with and we my sister and I were able to really enjoy their 5 day Great Walk Tour in Southland. We knew what to expect and although some parts were a challenge for 'an old lady,' overall we had a great tour and experienced some wonderful time in the bushland areas. The tour guide Daniel was very caring and considerate and was able to adapt the activities to suit us better. Nothing really phased him out - even the weather - so at all times we felt well cared for. Travel in the van was comfortable and I felt safe at all times. Food provided on the tour was amazing - think my waistline is suffering a bit from it now though!! We would recommend NZ Trails to all who are interested in experiencing the real, natural areas of NZ - but especially to those like us who needed the extra bit of pampering and support along the way. Go NZ Trails!
