The New Zealand Classic Motorcycle Racing Register was formed in 1979 to promote and celebrate NZ’s rich history of Motorcycle Racing, both in NZ and across the world. It provides an opportunity to place the machines and people involved in front of the NZ public and allows those with the passion to race and own these fantastic motorcycles an opportunity to race on a variety of New Zealand racetracks.
Initially the Register provided racing classes for pre 1963 British, European and American motorcycles. In recent seasons this has been extended to has included Post Classic classes and the Register runs championships classes catering for Vintage, Classic and Post Classic motorcycles of all makes and capacities.
Register events are run on tracks throughout the North Island with Pukekohe, Hampton Downs, Taupo and Manfeild all being visited through the season. This offers real variety to the championship and sees participation from throughout the country . Recognising Register membership is spread throughout the country we have recently set up regional co-ordinators to assist with communication between members and committee. Regional co-ordinators contact details can be found on the website. So if you are a new racer looking to get into the sport or a current member with a suggestion let them know.
NZCMRR rules and classes can be found on the NZCMRR website (www.nzcmrr.com) under the rules tab.
So if you’re a Classic or Post Classic competitor from the North or South Islands., or even from across the world, the Register wants to see you involved and values your input so hopefully we’ll see you at an event in the near future.
