My hubby and I do our weekly grocery shopping at New World Whitianga.nnWe love this supermarket as staff there are fantastic, especially Aaron who always relocates the trolleys from the car park area to tue entrance of the supermarket in very efficient and well- organised way.nnKristy is very friendly and helpful at the cashier counter. The store manager is also very helpful.nnHaving successfully collected 45 stamps on 11/7/2025, I finally redeemed the Cast Iron Braiser at the cost of NZD60.nnWe highly recommend you to shop there if you live in Whitianga or happen to visit there on holiday.
Good prices on meat on WednesdaysnGreat selection of quality products . Always clean and tidy. Good store. Friendly staff
Do not recommend this place. The cashier was incredibly rude to us old lady with dyed brown hair and black glasses. She asked us for my ID as we had wine in our shops to cook our mussels not even to drink it!. I had my driver’s licence but she insisted to see my passport. Unnecessarily rude throughout the process. I will not come back to this place which discriminates people of ethnic backgrounds because we look more youthful than westerners despite being in our 30s. Being openly discriminated like that is purely appalling and unacceptable - hope the management can take actions here for the benefit of other customers but I won’t come back.
Went in with my friends as we are on a lovely holiday, tried to buy a bottle of prosecco and we were not allowed as apparently our two friends needed to come in from outside and show ID. We do not have any other friends here? Very unfair how we were accused in front of the whole store and we had our passports ready, not sure why we were told we had people with us when it was just the three of us. Very Unimpressed
Huge selection of food items be aware of prices if you are not a club member they are slightly higher at the register than the shelf sale price. They have several lanes open and self checkout. Dozen of eggs is currently $8.99 clean and well stocked.
