New World Timaru

Excellent supermarket with reasonable prices. We shopped here during our 2 week trip to Timaru. Employees were friendly and courteous. We found everything we needed easily.

Great customer service. The staff was helpful and very friendly. However, the store felt so cold. Made the experience really bad. I didn’t stay long and decided to not buy everything I needed as I did not think to bring a jacket. Never needed it for shopping specially on days that weren’t as cold outside. Maybe Foodstuffs need to be less cheap on heating specially in a store where their products are a bit more expensive than other supermarkets .

Well mates this country is groovy man love the stores I enjoy New World due to how close it is from other shops.some of the veg a bit more pricey than I have been accustom to.bakery is awesome, but $ 7.90 for a cauliflower that was the size of very small grapefruit yikes....I have a small patch of nice dirt I think I will go to a nursery.and start from seeds when it time to plant them or make a wee little green house with small Christmas lights.to keep them from freezing in the winter,and a small D.C.computer to fan it in the summer. Quite impressed with deli. And shop layout was good but in particular staff were bright and breezy AND packed ypur goods.

Great staff unfortunately wayyy too cold even colder than outside!! it’s cruel to make staff work in these conditions for more than 5 hours

Some of the younger staff need to be taught the art of oral communication with older customers. They speak too fast, and not loud enough, one can't understand them. It's not their fault, it's the supermarkets, for not training them properly in how to talk to customers. Also, the lotto outlet, sometimes has you waiting too long. The old New World, had a proper kiosk! Way better, however, it's a well stocked supermarket for all that

Decent goods, great stuff, it’s so cold you want to run away 15 min after being there though.

Good location near everything else. Well laid out store.

Good range of products fruit and vege dept always has lovely quality produce. Butchery and fresh fish is very well presented. Great range of wines and beers. Plus the staff are awesome in all departments.
