The checkout service was quick, an there were a fair few people lined up, the operators were quick, friendly an polite ..nnNice big store , but not very well stated which isle has what , either that or they had a change around it was nice an cleannnThe few staff I saw on the floor on the other hand, were to busy chatting to actually help somebody from out of town find what they were looking for , as a last resort they had to ask other customers if they were from the town to get some helpnnThe gourmet sausage lady was very friendly, inviting an informative..
Food Safety ConcernnnI got a steak and a seaweed salad from the cold store section. Both items are known to leak. I placed the steak in an extra plastic sleeve bag, but left the seaweed salad as it was. At checkout, a staff member packed my groceries.nnWhen I got home, I discovered that the seaweed salad had been placed in the steak plastic sleeve by staff, laid on their sides in the big bag along with other groceries, which encouraged the steak juices to leak. As a result, THE SEAWEED SALAD PACK WAS COVERED IN RAW STEAK JUICE, potentially vice versa.nnI returned to the store to request a refund or replacement. I WAS TOLD IT WAS FINE TO CONSUME, AS THE SEAWEED BAG DIDN’T SEEM TO BE LEAKING BUT THEY USUALLY DO, AND THERE “SEEMED TO BE NO RAW STEAK JUICE INSIDE.” After a back-and-forth discussion and mentioning food safety concerns, I was eventually given a replacement seaweed salad.nnI also requested a refund for the steak, I mentioned that my partner has a soy allergy soy is in the salad that was contaminated, but agreed to take it after a massive pushback.nnThis was a clear food safety issue and very disappointing to deal with.
Freshly refurbished, very clean and nice.nWalkable from town, fair selection, awesome staff.
3 times in the last 6 weeks we've been double charged for a 6-pack of VB. For some reason the scanner is counting 1 pack as 2. Today the checkout operator noticed and removed the extra charge but the other two times we only spotted it after checking the receipt when we got home.nBeen shopping there for 18 years. I shudder to think how many times I've been double charged without knowing it.nDon't know if it does it with any other brands of beer, but I strongly recommend everyone check your receipts.nPretty sure it's illegal for them to continuously overcharge like that and not do anything about fixing it.
Always clean and tidy, well stocked and fresh produce looks amazing.
