Brilliant supermarket, a very wide range of products the meat section was great I wish UK supermarkets had such a range,and for the price New world charge. Bread section was great so much choice overall a great place to shop.nCheckout staff were friendly

Just sad. You'd think in one of the premier fruit/veg growing regions of NZ that New World would have great offerings. Time and again the fruit is bland, rotten, frozen, and/or tasteless. Apricots, cherries, plums, watermelons, and peaches that have no flavor. The veggies seem like they've been stored somewhere for weeks. They must get their produce from a warehouse in Christchurch where it's been picked long ago and stored. There's an opportunity here for someone to come into this town with fresh produce.
Date: 27 April 2025nTime: Between 6:15pm - 6:30pmnnThe staff at the self check out counter is very rude, we were having our trolley and we both don’t know it’s not allow to do the self check out with trolley while we always do this at the other supermarket including New World , the staff just ask us to go away and pay at the counter without telling us any reason in a very rude way and attitude, when I asked him why, he just show his hand to ask us go away to the counter in front SUPER RUDE, was trying to get his name, but he didn’t have any name tag on him nnIRONICALLY, THERE WERE 2 TROLLEYS AT THE SELF CHECK OUT COUNTER IN FRONT OF US MAKING PAYMENT AND HE DIDNT ASK THEM TO GO AWAY BUT ONLY US IN A VERY RUDE WAY, WHAT A DAY
Me and my family travelled here last night and we met a uncomfortable discrimination case in this supermarket in Wanaka. 3 teenagers around 13-15years old walked and came up to us and suddenly shouted loud to us and my kids were scared and we felt this was a discrimination because we are Asian. I asked them strictly what the problem with you then they just quickly ran away acting like innocent. It's a shame such case happened in this country and these teenagers are psycho
