I have been a regular customer of this store for many years due to its location and convenience. I am not one to normally leave a review but I was appalled by what I witnessed and overheard between staff members as I did my weekly shop yesterday. I overheard a tall man, wearing a checkered shirt and a black vest who I assume was a manager berating another staff member in an all black uniform with a yellow vest on. The man in the checkered shirt did not have a name tag that was visible. This manager was clearly agitated and the poor staff member looked visibly upset and embarrassed. This was done by the bakery section where any customers could walk by and overhear what was being said. I wouldn’t say he was yelling but he was speaking very loudly. I noticed nearby staff members did not look comfortable or happy and I can only assume they were having a bad shift under this manager. Human Resources or management need to address this. I am sure I witnessed an incident of workplace bullying. That is not acceptable in any workplace. Please remember to look after your staff.
Popped in early this morning to grab a few items. A group of staff members were standing near the entrance being told off by a male manager. Surely there are more appropriate areas to discipline your staff, like out the back away from your customers? Apart from that, it’s an okay place to shop. More expensive than most places though.
I’m unimpressed with the lack of empathy your staff have or supervision. Absolutely storming rain in Auckland past 24hrs and I’ve been stuck sleeping in my car and went to get supplies from new world and begged them to charge my phone while I went to do my shopping as my phone was on 1%. But the completely refused. They’ll take our hard earned money on there excessively overpriced groceries but couldn’t help me out with a simple favour. The supermarket warlords get filthy rich at the expense of working people and the government lets them get away with it. Foodstuffs who own New world earn $20-50 million dollars annually profit a year and your franchise owners bask in wealth while everyday kiwis pinch pennies to feed there families SHAME ON YOU
Shitty.... Asked to remove my open helmet in store on grounds of conditions of entry. There are no signs on front door and I have been shopping there with my helmet on for the past 18 months on a daily basis. Have even seen people shopping with full face helmets on. My face is perfectly visible with my helmet on
Good friendly staff, the only main supermarket in Kumeu Township. Bitbthebfull size New World you see in Hobsonville, Eastridge but have pretty much what you need. Carpark spaces are limited during busy hours and it is such a pain to get in and out off. But other than that, all good and recommends others for a visit.
