Greeted Debbie upon arrival very approachable and a great host. The other comfortable reviews are facts, was able to relax once we got through the door. Clean and cosy stay for sure. Handy having a shop at reception as we just made it in just before 9pm as we’re travelling & didn’t want to stop off, great selection available as well. Would definitely come back if needing to stop for the night to rest before heading north on our travels. . Thanks you’s.
GET AWAY FROM THIS CAMP! We stayed at the campsite for one night only. We arrived late and it is written on the gate that we should first pay in the store a little further away and only then enter the campsite - our mistake - we could not see the facilities and equipment. The campsite is absolutely disgusting and there is disgusting dirt everywhere. The equipment is very old and worn. There are a lot of trash cans, clutter, lying tires and wood in front of the kitchen. there is dirt on the floor in the kitchen, the windows are covered with cobwebs and dust, it smells really bad inside. The showers are old, it is not possible to adjust the hot water. And for all this we paid NZD 20 per person per night - the same price as a luxury holiday park with pool and playground in Rotorua!
Love this place and the owners! Clean, cosy and has everything you would need. Debbie and Dax have a heart of gold - they ensure that you are well looked after and make you feel right at home. I would definitely say that the owners go over and beyond to make sure their guests are comfortable! Overall, fantastic hospitality and cosy place to stay
We were very excited to stay here as the pictures looked great, and all the reviews are really positive, however, we were disappointed for the following reasons. No net curtains on windows and very overlooked from the front, no electricity sockets in small room, beautiful but noisy barking huskies, unclean in places like window sills and the water glasses in the cupboard had mould on them. The owner was lovely and very helpful and friendly so hopefully some of this feedback is constructive but for the high price we paid for 2 nights, I would have expected a nicer environment.
From the photos it looked alot nicer, however bit pricey, rooms need more insulation as they were quite cold and a lot of condensation on the windows in the morning. Bed comfiness ok, Cleanliness ok. Grounds need tiding up, noisy guests with loud motorbikes in the early morning making us all awake early.Rooms: 3/5
Very disappointing. We had booked a unit with 2 bedrooms for us 4 adults. The 'living space' was far too small with a tiny wall side table with just enough room for its too chairs. It was hard too sleep because of the cheap curtains not blocking the light from the court yard. We should have checked the location as it right on SH1 so we needed earplugs to block out the noise of trucks rolling by through the night.
We were in the camping. Terrible dirty and disgusting. $20 per person, no WiFi, drunkem people from caravan walking to showers and kitchen. It is shame of New Zealand.Rooms: 1/5
Great hospitality, friendly staff and a nice cozy room. We got there just on closing which wasn’t great for the owners but they were so lovely and made our group feel at home. Would definitely be staying here again.
I actually lived at this motel from July 22-October 22. Your hosts, Debbie and Dax are great hosts, not because they kiss your feet, but because they do their best to look after you. They're upfront and honest so you know exactly what you're paying for. Bear in mind that the motel is located on State Highway 1. Don't expect it to be quiet. Expect a nice, quaint place to stay, close to the water, and right next to the only shop in town.
