What a great Thai find in Auckland! Definitely recommended and the curries aren’t so creamy and right amount of spices. Oh yea...must mention about the ambience too. Felt like we were in Thailand when you step into the restaurant. Very friendly staff as well!
Good professional service with plenty of seating available inside. All your favourites that you would expect from a Thai restaurant. I was a little disappointed that they did not have one of the entrees available or crispy pork as advertised. Good choice of beer and wines as well as non alcoholic drinks available. Plenty of parking available as well.
I'm not really sure what happened... was quite excited to come tonight, having heard good things, but had quite a disappointing experience. We were the first customers in the restaurant and we ended up waiting almost 2 hours for our dinner some other customers were served before us. The food was also quite subpar for the price. The massaman curry had undercooked potatoes and couldn't be finished. The medium spicy dishes we asked for had barely any spice. The basil crispy pork flavour was ok but the pork was a bit too chewy? I gave 2 stars because the staff were friendly enough, but maybe it would be good if you guys had more staff??? Hope it was just an off night
Hands down the best Thai restaurant I have been to in New Zealand! Chewy, delicious pad thai noodles, savoury and tender beef Massaman curry, sticky rice, puffy, flakey roti...worth every penny. Take even the most thai food averse folks here to convert them to the thai palate! Coming back often!
Great Thai food here and I love that they have a special vegetarian section on their menu.
My first time here. I love everthing in this Papaya Thai restaurant. This place was sent me home. I m Thai but I am so impressed how beautiful the food and the asmospher in restaurant. I feel like home. Love this place and definitely will go back again.

Beautiful Thai style decorations. Foods are authentic taste of thai. Moreover, the service is very good made me feel like home.
Really great atmosphere with good lighting, decor and vibes. The staff were attentive and friendly, and the traditional Thai food was outstanding. Will most definitely be coming back for more! Has large seating areas too - so it is well suited for events and functions, not a bad alcohol menu either ; The highlight was the peanut butter chicken thanks again for the delightful experience!
Great food, great atmosphere and very authentic Thai flavours. Fast and friendly service too. The only minus point - quantity/serving is very little for the price. The fish size too was very small for a whole fish. Papaya is a great place but they will start loosing customers if they don't match quantity to the price they charge.
