Centennial Parklands is a wonderful place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Full of history and life with plenty of space for all. Parking can sometimes be an issue in the more popular parts but there's more spaces if you explore the eastern end.
Basketball courts are in great condition and are free unless you want to reserve a court and have lights on at night Mon-Fri. If you are looking for pickup ball, this is the place to go. Very easy to jump into games for all levels, very accepting atmosphere.

Don't get conned paying.. we went there first time and paid $50 for a basketball court. Its free for all
Courts are pretty good and the system of getting onto the courts is great they send you a code for the door. But recently every time we play at night time the lights don’t come on or half of them don’t work, meaning you’re playing in dark.
