Nelson Honey

About

www.nelsonhoney.com The home of Nelson Honey, Royal Nectar and Nectar Ease!

Story

Formed in 1973, Nelson Honey & Marketing (NZ) Ltd is a family owned business operated by Philip and Evelyn Cropp. Philip’s grandfather started producing honey from hives in the Nelson area as a sideline to his fruit orchard over 100 years ago. With Philip and Evelyn beekeeping since the 1970's and with Matthew their son beekeeping as well, Nelson Honey brings together 4 generations of beekeeping and honey production experience.

Over the past 25 years the company has grown substantially in production and has diversified into the Natural Health market.

In addition to the NectarEase product range, Nelson Honey also produces Active Manuka Honey and other natural products, the company has continued to maintain a healthy year on year increase of its honey-based products. These are available in over 400 retail outlets (Natural Health Food shops, Pharmacies, Gift Shops etc) in New Zealand with a high level of brand awareness for NectarEase and Active Manuka Honey in particular.

Product is exported to markets all around the globe including the United States, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and the United Kingdom with many enquiries coming for the establishment of distribution outlets in Europe and Asia. Nelson Honey is dedicated to maintaining the highest product standards, and to the added value health benefits that come from honey.

How to find us
Based in the South Island of New Zealand, we are 50 kilometres to the south of Nelson township. In conjunction with its sister companies Rainbow Honey Limited and Scenicland Honey Limited, we now have over 4,000 hives sited throughout Nelson, Golden Bay and West Coast areas of NZ's South Island.

Located in the pristine bush and forests of this beautiful part of New Zealand, the hives produce a variety of natural honeys free from insecticide or other agricultural sprays. Research indicates that honey produced in such clean, green environments increases the therapeutic benefits of the bee products (Postmes & Van den Bogaard, 1993).

Beautiful place to go. Good customer service and lovely ice cream.
We were told that this is the best Real Fruit ice cream in the South Island. We passed by a bunch of other stores hoping it to be true and thankfully were not disappointed! Sensational ice cream and a sweet live bee displayed you can check out for free!
Tasty honey and fruit icecream.
Good ice cream too, great place to stop along the road trip
Last week I’ve received my order from Nelson honey “honeydew honey ” the honey jars were extremely dirty and dusty and when I checked the batch number I was more disappointed to find out the products are a year old not fresh as they say not good at all and the on line customer service is below zero.
