I am writing this review to formally raise serious concerns regarding supervision and communication at Nemo Childcare Centre.nMy child attended the centre for only two days in week for 4 weeks. During that short period, he experienced a fall that resulted in injury. While I understand that minor accidents can occur with toddlers, what deeply concerned me was a separate incident involving supervision.nnAlso at pickup, I discovered a rubber band inside my child’s mouth. A teacher was seated directly next to him but had not noticed. I removed it immediately when I picked him up, This posed a significant choking hazard and raised serious questions about active supervision practices.nIn addition, I am concerned about communication transparency. I was not informed through the centre’s communication portal about a Hand, Foot and Mouth disease case in a timely manner. The notice appeared approximately seven days later, and only after I had already felt concerned and picked my child up early one day. Timely health alerts are critical in an early childhood setting to allow parents to monitor symptoms and protect their children.nnAlso changing days is too much hassle even notifying way in advance,nDue to these combined safety and communication concerns, I made the decision to withdraw my child.nI strongly encourage the centre’s management to review supervision protocols and staff training procedures, as well as ensure prompt and transparent communication regarding health matters. These are fundamental expectations in any early childhood education environment.nnOwner of Neemo, if you would like to reach out to me you are more than welcome.
My son Jaisel has now moved on to school after spending 2 wonderful years at this daycare. When he first started, he was quite shy and emotional, and as a parent I was worried about how he would settle in. But with the amazing support of the teachers, he has grown into a confident and independent child.nnBefore enrolling, I visited many daycares around Rolleston but didn’t get a good feeling from the environment or the teachers. The moment I visited Neemo, I was greeted with warm smiles and such a welcoming atmosphere that I felt instantly relieved and grateful to get a spot here.nnThroughout our time, I always felt reassured—even on days when my son cried at drop-off—that he was safe, happy, and cared for. The teachers are so supportive, nurturing, and genuinely invested in the children.nnI’m truly thankful to the whole team for giving my son such a positive start to his learning journey. I can honestly say this is the best daycare we have experienced. Highly recommend!
We LOVE Neemo. Our boy had always struggled with separation anxiety until he started to attend here a year ago. The teachers in Tohora and Tehehu rooms have been so helpful.
I wanted to share my experience at Neemo Childcare Centre, as I believe there are significant issues that need addressing. My son recently started attending, and I’ve noticed a concerning lack of warmth and inclusivity from the teachers.nnAt his previous kindergarten, the staff were welcoming and engaged with all the children, regardless of their background. Unfortunately, at Neemo, it feels like the teachers are less responsive, especially towards children who don’t fit a certain mold. My son has even mentioned that when he says hello, he often doesn't receive a response.nnI believe that every child deserves to feel valued and welcomed in their learning environment. It’s disappointing to see such a lack of attention to inclusivity. I hope the management can recognize this issue and work towards creating a more welcoming atmosphere for all children.
My kids have been here right from the get go and I've been itching to finally post a review based on my own personal experience. This centre has come a long way. Warm and welcoming as soon as we set foot through the doors. I feel my kids are safe, loved and cared for. They both have also come a long way too. Their growth and development is really showing through. Regular updates online through Educa keep me well informed and I absolutely LOVE seeing my children's stories on there. Makes me feel really connected and involved in their learning journey.
