I have been receiving services from Sylvia for years and so have many of my family members. When I started services with her I was doing relaxers and she helped me see the benefits of taking care of my natural hair. She helped me through the big chop and she is very knowledgeable about her trade! She is very professional and she requires the same of the other stylist in her establishment. I appreciate the one on one care she gives my hair every time I come in and I love that I can trust her hair care recommendations and products. Her salon is clean and neat and appreciate her attention to detail. I have had numerous services with her and other stylists in her salon and I have not been disappointed. I highly recommend this salon. It is a perfect fit for anyone pursuing a natural hair journey or doing various chemical treatments. Sylvia is a professional and she is better than great at what she does!
I went to get my hair straightened by Sylvia for my birthday and I expressed to her my fear of straightening my curls since I have experienced really bad Heat damage in the past. She reassured me my curls would bounce back and once I washed my hair there was NO damage in sight! My curls are still healthy and I will definitely be returning!Services: Hair straightening
I booked an appointment with Sylvia for a shampoo, conditioning and blow dry for November 5, 2022 @ 3:30 p.m. a week in advance. I received a text message at 10:59 p.m. on November 4, 2022 if I could come to my appointment early. I informed her that I could come as soon as I get off work @2:00 p.m she then responded and said ok and I will yappointment with Kourtney. I responded and told her that is fine because I thought Sylvia is a good stylist so I will try someone new in her shop. Fast forward I arrived at my appointment at 2:20 and walked in to Sylvia asking me do you have an appointment and she looked at me as if I was lost. I then told her my name is Trina and I have a 2:30 appointment withKourtney. She then tells me I put you with Angela and she will be right with you please have a seat outside the door. I then sat outside the door for another 10 mins and remind you I was asked to come early. Fast forward, I was now in the shop and I the client started taking down my 6 plats because I had my hair braided and the stylist allowed me to stand there and Sylvia then wiped down the chair and told me I can have a seat. Angela did not comb my hair out she just proceeded to washing my hair WRONG! She then talked about how thick and long my hair was. There was no shampoo latter she was on the phone with a personal call then entire time. Her little daughter started putting her hands in my hair actually pulling my hair. Remind you I have a very sensitive scalp and Angela shower no compassion for me and sorry I failed to mention we discussed my scalp. Fast forward again Angela started to blow dry my wet hair and then figured out she needs to comb my hair out. So now she’s combing my hair out in sections and then started using some blow drying comb looking equipment and pulled my head and it hurt so bad and instead of tending to me she was tending to her kids. Angela children were crying running out and acting out. The noise was very annoying and what upset me the most was because Sylvia watch her doing my hair and didn’t step in to assist and I’m not a licensed stylist and I knew that Angela was not providing my hair with the best treatment. Fast forward again now my hair is blow out but still tangled and Angela is now trying to braid my hair to the back and pulling my hair to separate it with her fingers as she watches television at this point. I have 6 braids to the back and the parts are not straight something I could have just done myself! My start cost was $50.00 for the shampoo, conditioner and blow dry and after the braid that was asked prior to my appointment my final cost was $105.00. I will never go back and I do not recommend this salon to anyone. Today started off as a great Saturday and my afternoon was so disappointing. Bad business!
Absolutely LOVE MY HAIR! I should have chose one of her straight her services a long time ago. I finally got rid of the dead stuff and can wear my hair confidently. I booked some package thinking I was getting a regular hair washing but I smelt essential oils which I love. I felt like I was at a spa with the services she provided, not just some "beauty shoppe". Thanks Sylvia LOVE IT!!!
Excellent service. I’ve been skeptical about going to salons and having anyone in my hair due to a bad experience I had 3years ago . My mom and I really needed our hair did for a trip we had coming up. Our stylist Angela was able to squeeze us in very very last minute for a silk press and gray hair coverage. Not only was she very professional she also was also very quick we didn’t have to worry about being there all day and night. Our stylist Angela was very kind and accommodating, I trusted her with my dead ends and she was not at all scissor happy which was my main worry. And my mom had not one speck of gray showing. We will definitely return for their hair services again!

I was in search for a true natural hair stylist. I found Sylvia and love her professionalism and her work. She does a wonderful job each and every time. In fact, I was the lady in the chair who the prior reviewer mentions. I wasn’t going to respond to her review but I felt a push in my spirit. Right is right and wrong is wrong. All I’m going to say is people should be honest. I heard the entire encounter and what has been written is not a truthful review.
