Very interesting place to visit. Total different experience if you like to try. Also if you like history. Otherwise, this prison is very small. Also it cost $20 per adult for admission. I personally would say $10 - $15 is better.
It was interesting to see the prison. We found the audio ghost tour a little interesting but lacking a good flow. I think it's try the historical tour next time if I went again.
Great learning experience for the whole family. Some great facts and stories, can't believe some of things that happened here.
Didn't see any ghosts but the historical tour was ace and the Ishan I'm sure I've butchered the spelling is a great dude. Can totally recommend it for a cheap and quick thing to do in Napier.
One of the best experience here in NZ like museum we had a historical tour and after we could take pictures around the building. Sad history... but such an interesting.
What a brilliant, interesting, freaky place to visit. Highly recommend. Be careful your young kids don't get the adult audio as its a bit freaky some if the true stories but very well done!
Very interesting to take a look through the oldest prison in New Zealand. No longer functions as a prison. 90 minute historical or ghost optioned audio self tours available at a cost of $20. Not somewhere I would have wanted to stay, but that had been an option when it was a backpackers.
