Love nandos. End of. And the chicken here was great as was the chips and the coleslaw. However any experience can always be improved by the surroundings and this is where Albany was let down. The walls were scraped and had holes in them, hand wash area was not that clean and it leaves you with a feeling of griminess which makes you squirm a bit in your seat through the whole thing. You know that part in Elf when Buddy gets sent down to the mailroom? That’s what it felt like here without the “special syrup” Buddy got to drink...
Food was fine but bathrooms are gross! I could have taken more pictures but felt this was enough. If I hadn't ordered and paid before going I would have walked out
Most probably under new management. Walked in and certain items were crossed out on the menu with a vivid. Furniture looks dated and old, you can see the rust on the tables and it’s filthy. Brought Platter with Chicken without any plates and cutlery. Went to kitchen to wash plates and cutlery. When plates finally arrived chicken was ice cold. Service and food were pathetic. Won’t be coming back again. Nando’s you have dropped your standards BIG TIME. Won’t be back again to the Albany one.
Nando's is great just on its own for some delish chicken. When the staff takes a special interest in your interest and give great service with a touch of personality, thats when you'll get me coming back every time.
Service was friendly and food was well cooked to Nandos standards. Environment was clean and tidy with convenient parking out front.
I didn't realise it was sort of self service the food was sort of okay for overpriced nothing but the non service was insulting. If I needed or wanted anything she would point and walk away. Was a chef for 20 yrs and definitely don't have over expectations but not into being trolled for $40 and 2 bits of chicken. Am sorry she was missing her Shortland St repeats.
My partner and I were really disappointed in our recent experience here. The service was good, however, prior to COVID this place used to serve delicious food. Now it seems standards have dropped. The seat we were told to sit at had an oily hand print and crumbs everywhere on the couch. The bottled coke was flat, the chips had some fresh but was mixed with others that were old and cold. The chicken in the burger was incredibly dry to the point that it had hardened around the edges, I also was burnt by it and it seemed like it had been reheated. I found it disappointing to be paying so much for food of this quality. Will return if this improves, but for now I'll make the trip to other Nandos stores with better quality food and cleanliness.
Last week I went there to buy a whole peri-peri chicken for takeaway with a lot of basting and I did get it. It was a good experience. And today, I came back order the same thing, but this time is a disappointment. After arguing back and forth for more basting, I ended up had to pay extra for the basting. Not happy at all. You just lose a customer over a basting. FYI: Nandos in North West doesn't charge for the extra basting. I guess that will be my go to Nandos going forward.
Look, not one to review but very disappointing experience, Was warned of a 30 minute wait for chicken. And understanding proceeded to order a burger and some tenders. Our food came out about a hour after and was very very average. Definitely not worth the wait. Overall. Will definitely not be recommending
Did not receive the correct order. When I contacted them, I spoke to a want to be manager who didn't understand the English language and she then tried to convince me the don't make mistakes. Sadly I had throw the burger in the dustbin and ended up ordering from somewhere else. Would not recommend Nando's Albany!!
