This is an awesome museum!! We aren’t normally museum people but we loved the exhibits of the bones found it caves, great caving videos and the kids loved the crawl through cave. Very accessible information and the whole place is engaging and dynamic with much of the actual museum designed like a cave to walk through. Totally recommend for kids and adults alike!
Fascinating place to visit. So much information to take in about the local area. My favourite part is learning about the geology of the area and how the caves came to be.
Very nice little museum. Chock full of great exhibits, interactive items to keep kids of all ages entertained. Thank-you for doing such a wonderful job on this. We really enjoyed it and a deal for the price!!
Small and dark but super informative before our Glowworm Caves tour, and amazing service
Wet weekend in Waitomo, done the caves, a 4yo and 5yo to entertain... what next?? Bring on Waitomo caves Museum for almost 2 hours of entertainment! There is just not that much to do around Waitomo on a wet day... But this place is the gem we were looking/hoping for - small footprint but big entertainment factor and some great local insight and very knowledgable recommendations too.
Lovely small museum all about the caves. The kids especially loved the pretend cave you can go through. Bought a glow worm pin for my jacket collection
We had the absolute best time in this museum. one of the best small town museums we've been to. the staff were so nice and welcoming and happy to provide any information we were looking for. The museum itself is informative and interactive which we loved. Thank you so much for such a great time we can't recommend the Waitomo Caves Museum enough!!
This was such a nice experience and you learn a lot about glow worms. Definitely great for kids, teens and parents!! We went back a second time.

The speaker in the movie theatre crackling away like a thunder storm ruined the experience. Nice enough museum. Good to hear the speaker has been fixed.
