"Muriwai Surf School is located on Auckland's beautiful West Coast only 35 minutes drive from the central city.Our surf shed is a 1 minute walk from the beach.We are a kiwi owned and operated family business that pride ourselves on our customer service.We offer qualified professional instructors in a fun and safe environment for surfers of any level.Surf lessons are 2 hours and include a surfboard and wetsuit hire.For those not needing a lesson we have a fantastic range of surfboards and wetsuits which are available for short or long term rental."

First time surfing, the two Dylans instructed us from beginning to end of our two hour session. They taught us basic skills like standing up on the board, catching a wave, and helped us throughout the session, helping us move deeper into the waters and pushing us along to catch waves when we were too tired to paddle.  During the session they also kept an eye out on the waves and moved us away from the rips. Their ability to maintain composure and impressive physical fitness made me feel comfortable and safe during an exhausting session  Had an amazing experience, and would strongly recommend everyone contemplating their first surfing experience to have it here!

I rarely do reviews. Only when I am very pleased with a service or extremely disappointed by one! I want to warmly thank our instructor Dylan who gave me precious advices on how to improve my surfing skills as well as how to "read" the see. I hadn't surfed in 5 years and this session reminded me why I liked surfing before. Dylan is a thoughtful and passionate instructor that will make you progress as well as enjoying safely the moment on the water... And hopefully on the board!

I’ve been lucky to do some great surf courses before, but these guys are the best! I was on the advanced beginners course which was twice a week for 5 weeks, and loved it! Great instructors, and lovely blokes to boot! Every one in our group showed huge progress in their technique and the waves we were catching, while having an awesome time doing it. Not enough stars to give when reviewing it!

The lesson was SO FUN, Dylan was an awesome teacher to both my partner and I who were beginners. He was really supportive, patient and helpful. Would highly recommend this school :

BLOKARTING - DO IT!!! Me and 3 friends went blokarting in this awesome spot recently. Definitely recommend. Such a fun affordable activity to do and the owners are so lovely. Will be back to learn how to surf! Thank you! :

Love these guys. I did the Advanced Beginner course with Dylan and Thomas. Loads of feedback on my surf technique and even more laughs. My surfing has improved hugely and I've had the best time doing so. They strike a great balance between making sure you're comfortable whilst pushing your limits. Sort of don't want to leave a review so the courses don't get booked up  ; Thanks again boys xx

I would definitely recommend Muriwai Surf School - they are an awesome bunch of people. I completed the Advanced Beginner course at the end of 2022 with Dylan and Thomas and had heaps of fun. The boys gave us heaps of individualized feedback, pushed our limits and helped me become a lot more confident in the water. My surfing has definitely improved and I will be back for more. Thanks guys for the great experience :

Did the advanced beginner course with Dylan & Thomas and absolutely loved it! They create a lovely, fun group environment for everyone. I always felt safe and in great hands. Such fun banter with the instructors and group, made some awesome friends. Highly recommend
