Great service, delicious food, reasonable prices. Worth going - gluten and dairy free available, including a gf roti see the photo BYO wine too New larger dining area Dietary restrictions: Can make most items dairy or gluten free And they have a gf roti!
We've been on the hunt for a good curry house ever since we moved to NZ in 2006, & I'm pleased to report that the Mumbai Masal is it. It's definitely the best I've found in NZ so far, & I've been to all the main centers. To be honest, I'd like to keep it a secret it's so good . I'm not going to go on about it, look at the star rating & go for a meal. If you're disappointed, it's you, not them.
The food here is exceptional, but unfortunately the service is quite slow. There were approximately five other tables of diners, but our starters took 20 minutes and then another 30 for our mains. It definitely won't put me off going - will just bring a bottle and enjoy a drink while we wait next time. The curries and naans are worth it! Vegetarian options: Loads of tasty daals and paneer options
This is my favourite Indian restaurant in Tauranga. I have been a regular customer for many years now and each time the staff are always friendly and make sure I feel comfortable and welcome. Highly recommend this place!Recommended dishesPlain Naan, Raita, Chicken Korma, Gulab Jamun
Had a beautiful dinner here tonight. The garlic cheese naan was the best I’ve ever had. Our chicken mains were beautiful. The chicken was super tender and moist. The service was very polite and efficient. Would definitely go again. Thank you Mumbai Masala for a beautiful meal.
We went for dinner tonight for the first time. Very nice food, good portion size, well spiced. Drinks and food are very well priced. The young waiter was very friendly and attentive. Will definitely be our new spot when we feel like a good indain meal. Highly recommend:
Best Indian I have ever had, We ordered, Goat Korma Butter Prawn Garlic Naan Plain Naan A small dinner but it was five star restaurant food. The chef came out to greet the diners to check on the proceedings on everyone's evening and food. Looking forward to going back their again to try different Indian cuisine there. A+

Had a lovely meal with the family last night My meal choice was fish Machli Tamatarwali..medium The fish melted in the mouth and the sauce was suitably spiced with flavours of ginger and coriander in a tomato base..absolutely yummy The rice was fluffy and generously served. We all enjoyed our meals, thankyou!
Absolutely disappointed in my meal I ordered this afternoon via Uber. Driver was quick and efficient. The food however I ordered the same meal I did tonight about 2 weeks ago and couldn't fault it, was beautiful. Tonight meal was not even what I ordered, was more like a tomato curry than a Madras and the rice was cold. Won't be ordering from here again.
