Well, absolute horrible place. I would recommend to the person behind the counter to either leave his job or should leave this profession of running this business. He has written that food will take 25-30 min, it took 45-50 min for the food to arrive. After making a simple request to make the food a bit faster, the oldie lost his temper and started being rude. He started yelling about how I have short staff and I have so much work and on and on. I waited for him to finish so I can gently calm him down, the guy started blaming me for wasting his time. Like if you are really having a difficulties running the business then don’t do it. Stop crying about it and try to fix it. This was my second time at this Restraunt after 2 years and it has not changed and I will never come here again. -5 stars to this one.
I would give 0 to this restaurant and encourage all to avoid. Owner of the restaurant always rude to customers. Saw today shouting on a customer for asking how long their order takes?. Any order takes 30min as they can't manage this. Horrible customer service coupled with delays in delivering order. No wonder he lost customers due to their behaviour. They do have a sign post "25 to 30 min" over their counter.
unbelievable customer service by the owner ,that one old guy who takes orders have no manners of how to talk to customers , i work as chef as well and we asked so politely that we might missed our order and he was like we are not machines and it’s your wish to come here or not . He is old and that we respected but not mature enough. I think he is very racist to punjabi people .
Me and my friend visited them to fill our desi food craving. So, we ordered samosa pau, vada pau, mumbai special samosa and ladoo. Honestly, i didn't like the pau. Instead of pau they serve in burger buns don't know why, stuffing inside buns was cold. Taste of samosa was good and also its big in size. Ladoo was not good. Interior is good. They serve pure Vegetarian. Thank you.
Hands down the best Chaat in NZ... I have been looking for Chaat similar to the Goan Chaat I had in India and I lost all hope... Until I stumbled upon this place this evening. Very simple and humble place with delicious treats. I got the Maharaj Chaat and it brought back fond memories of my time in India. This place is extremely underrated!! Thank you
Lovely Mumbai street food. Highly recommend the chaat, sev puri, dahi puri, pani puri, kadi pulao, mango lassi, savoury buttermilk and dosas. Excellent, quality food!
Indian version of rude restaurant.. at one point it was a great restaurant serving fresh food with great service.. but now it’s become completely opposite.. unable to retain good staff, quality of food has gone down, prices are up and on top of it, the old boss seems to be frustrated with all including customers.. shouting at them for just checking the status of their orders.. would advise to avoid unless you don’t mind eating substandard food served with some insults..
Our table was full of plastic cups and spoons when we ordered food to dine in!!! Most food served in PLASTIC Containers on all tables. Dirty tables, we had to literally clean our table ourselves while the owner watched with a grin. Doors dont function, open at all times with 6 degrees wind blasting till inside. This is place is horrifying. This is supposed to be plastic free july. Shame when govts are declaring climate emergency this place is serving all customers in plastic to save staff cost to clean dishes. Maharaja Chaat platter $19 had 4 pieces of tiny pani puri, 4 pieces of dahi puri where there was literally half teaspoon of dahi and samosa chaat with hardly any chutney only ragda and samosa. I was so hungry and disappointed after this meal, had to go somewhere and have dinner :
We really had a Pathetic experience today.. After a long wait for food to be served, partially cooked food Dosa was given to us, which I somehow got replaced after arguing with owner. After waiting for almost 30 mins we asked for rest of our order and the owner was like “I have announced earlier that there is a delay and you have to wait”. The way he talked my wife was like I am not going to ask him for food again and let’s leave from here. The worst part is their attitude towards customers. They behave as if they are giving free food and we have to be kind and patient and eat whatever they are serving. It’s high time, I think there are lot of options for Indian food in Auckland and restaurants like Mumbai Chaat should be struggling because of how arrogantly they behave with customers.
I will rate less than one star for their customer service they do not know how to actually talk to customers does not matter they make good food but all the tastes are not much good they make worst aloo paratha which I had in my whole life. Also, the guy on the counter was so rude and uncle they don’t know how to talk to customers if we’re going there that’s why they are earning there living. They don’t have enough staff I will never go to this place
