Muller Station is a High Country Station in the heart of Marlborough.
Muller is a traditional high country property situated in the Awatere Valley, covering 38,800 hectares. Geographically, it takes in the head of the Saxton and Acheron rivers to the north of Molesworth Station, and a significant proportion of the head of the Awatere to the east. With rainfall of 550 mls and historically 220 frosts annually our environment is relatively unique. The homestead sits at 800 metres, ranging up to 2180 m.
We run 15,000 Merino sheep comprised of equal proportions of ewes, hoggets and wethers producing in excess of 85,000 kilos of premium fibre annually, with a large proportion of this going into Icebreaker contracts. Incorporated into this is our merino stud, which we established in 2006 by importing two rams from Australia. We now have 450 stud ewes, and have rams for sale in February each year.
We also run 2000 head of cattle including approximately 800 cows to the bull each year. All surplus stock are sold prime via contracts with Silver Fern Farms.
Muller is owned by Steve and Mary-Anne Satterthwaite. It has been run by the Satterthwaite family for nearly 50 years, bought back in 1965 by C B Satterthwaite.
